In Islam you are required to be modest. Our interpretation has been accepted to be the covering of the body except the face and hands. Muslim women can wear anything they want as long as it is modest. The face covering is just unnecessary and .. ridiculous. (but that's what I call compulsion and my point of view)

I respect your opinion Deewanger, and everyone has the rights to freedom, however in Islam it is unnecessary to cover the face and go that extra length, and remember this is in the western world - where it's hard enough to explain the headscarf covering itself. And I disagree, it isn't 'better' if something is right, then it should just be 'best'. The face covering is extremely oppressive and attention grabbing (the opposite of it's supposed purpose)

um if you actually bothered to research and undertand the culture of Islam then you would know that women can't easily rape men as they can rape women. It's almost physically impossible. This is why women should cover more so as not to attract male's attention. How can you say its unfair when you have no idea what the moral is behind it. I am a Catholic and I cover my head a lot, but the Muslim women have a heads up on us, you make it look so beautiful and classy, and we are still learning. Most Christian coverers wear a little white think on the head,no makeup and have basically tried to stop having that female allure. I am trying to make covering as a Catholic women more beautiful. @PuccaDear i think its incredibly important to cover up as a woman of any faith or creed. i think women underestimate how much men are distracted by our bodies. It gives men the chance to understand and appreciate who we are as people. This is why I think business fashion is also conservative. I think women can have a lot of pride in hiding their bodies, because it allows themselves to be skilled at being alluring and beautiful in ways that are much more permanent.
