  • I miss this soundtrack!!,thanks for posting it :)

  • 14 year old game and i still can play this game

  • oh my god i remeber walking down the hall where you first meet the licker, and all you hear are the footsteps, then booom the zombies arms break through the window.

  • *crash* STAAAAAAAAAARRSSSSS!

  • Resident Evil 2 was the scariest Resident Evil.

  • @chernobleman Resident Evil 1 was scariest 4 me, inside a giant mansion not knowing wats on the other side of every fucking door lol and tht mansion had alooot of doors! + Random Crimson Heads and Reptiles, and lets not forget Jeffery the Snake.

  • @xxSoLaRDeStrucTioNxx I can definitely identify with that. The one thing that made RE 2 so peculiar, is that your protagonists are no where near as skilled as the STARS, and they don't have the hope of back up. All alone. Like when Leon found Ben, with him being the only cop left, creeped the fuck outta me.

  • @chernobleman Yea RE2 was kool too, fighting William multiple times was a pain in tha ass though, but it was reallly interesting, at least the story made plenty of sense, but other than tht the whole police station was identical to the mansion a lil bit, it was abandoned, full of monsters, curiosity behind some doors, and to top tht, a huge tyrant(Like RE1)except he's in a trench coat stalking u rapidly, thts wat i like most about RE2 Trenchy!

  • @xxSoLaRDeStrucTioNxx For me I noticed that RE 2 presented the most disturbing antagonist ever to appear in Resident Evil, Chief Irons. You can see influences of John Wayne Gacy and Ed Gein in his character.

  • @chernobleman I nver noticed tht John Wayne? not familiar with him really, maybe i shuld look him up, I own RE: 0-3 had 4 and 5, but they gone.Ima play em in order again just becuz itz fuckin fun, but ima wait until 10:00pm with tha lightts out, itz soo much better

  • @xxSoLaRDeStrucTioNxx John Wayne Gacy the serial killer and rapist, not John Wayne the actor.

  • Man I was like... 10 years old and playing that game. Whenever a licker blasted a window I jumped from the frigging chair. But I loved the game though, you can never get these reactions on the newer ones, and that's disappointing. :(

  • r.i.p. resident evil and capcom

  • uh-ha, the green hall way where those zombie arms may burst thru the broken windows.

  • "Door Slams" I love this theme so much as it would always make me jump.

  • 1:01 well NEW UNDERWEAR REQUIRED!!!!

  • 1st ever played Resident Evil, as I play through 1f corridor this theme makes me very nervous

  • My first ever played RE, cant help feeling nervous plus this music, while walking along the way feels like zombies might hear ur footsteps

  • god yes when I was little I use to steal my dads RE2 game and play it it scared the crap out of me now I love RE :)

  • @TheZeldaMaster200 yeah, I know how you feel. Me and my two best friends got the game in 99's christmas for pc, and played separetly at home. then we always phoned each other in fear. And there were afternoons - we came our home and played RE, one man in one floor/room/death etc.

Later I've got the first and third episode as well - almost the same effect, but 2 still the best in the series.

  • I was Licked!!

  • wish they used all these original soundtracks for the films like they did with silent hill

  • wat the hell happened to this type of music???????

  • @devilslittlegirl101 Capcom made resident evil an action game now that's why we don't have awesome creepy music anymore.

  • i still play this with my 12 years old young brother, with my expensive speakers at night <3

  • Ugh, terrified back then and still terrified of that game and this music to this day O.o... Definitely the scariest music I've ever heard, I kid you not, this game gave me nightmares back in the day. Lol

  • The good old times when Resident Evil was still a survival horror and still scary...

  • Creepy music.... pretty silent.

    BHAM!!!

    HOLY SHIT!!

  • 1 person never survived the horror.

  • I know re2 by heart but this one creeps me out everytime... u know that it isnt safe here...

  • This brings back so many memories!

The suspense lurking in those corridors. 1:00 used to make me crap my pants every time, even though I knew it was coming! RE2 thinking it was a Licker or the T-103, RE3 thinking it was the Nemesis.

Here's hoping someday Resident Evil will "Once again enter the world of survival horror".

  • It's like you could be attacked at any moment.

  • Scary ass shit, especially when the zombies would attack through the windows

  • @Joey51935 that was the worst. zombie arms just smashing through the baricades....

  • These are the soundtracks of my childhood, the Police Station is a familiar place, same the Spencer Mansion and Raccoon City, so many memories... All the survival horror type RE have great musics, but for me Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 Nemesis particularly have the best videogames soundtracks of all time, so intruguing, scary and unforgettable... The 4 and 5 can burn in hell, they are not Resident Evil, i want back the survival horror and the scary blocked camera angles...

  • priceless track right here

  • Creepy and amazing track! I remember that "BAM" would always scare me when I was younger! Lol

  • 1 person forgot to get the Bishop Plug.

  • I read about 20 pages of the horror novel "Thirteen" by Andrew Hannon alone in my room with the door closed, the lights off, and the blinds shut while listening to this song, the library, and guns don't give us protection...I won't be getting any sleep tonight

  • that 1 dislike could have been a 220th like :(

  • @SpartanKitteh0659 Hey I liked , now its 220 likes :D

  • one of the greatest games of all time enough said RE2

  • Always found this soundtrack to have an X files feel to it...oh the 90s...the 90s.

  • that sound at 1:00 used to scare the shit out of me

  • the random crash made me jump when i played this

  • ^

damn mii comment got alot of thumbs up.....and i disliked this song XD

  • The slamming door bit always got me ! Not to mention this music x.x Man RE2 is probably the best of the series !

  • Problem is, Resident Evil 2 was the first one I played, and it is a great game anyway. Because of this, every other entry in the Resident Evil franchise seemed a little off to me. 2 had it on perfect. Especially when it came to the music.

  • Anyone else used to get a fright at 1:01 when they were younger?

    I know I did

  • 1 person got licked to death

  • 33,333 views. Orgasmic.

Resident Evil 4 was the best but silly that Ada Wong, Wesker, Salazar and everything that happened was all coincidentally involved in a rescue mission.

Resident Evil 1 & 2 are the originals...the only reason I bought a PlayStation as well. I have better memories from these games than any of the others but Resident Evil 4 was better than both of them! The enemies we're great.

But RE2 is my favourite. Seeing the Licker for the first time. Tyrant running through the wall!

  • There is hope: if a REmake can be made out of Resident Evil, and be kick ass, then a REmake can be made out of Resident Evil 2 and be kick ass.

  • i think i was the person who disliked this..... i dont remember

  • 1 person didnt make it passed the first floor!!! XD

  • Ive always hated the first floor of the R.P.D. Station becuz of this song. :o

  • ...If the first floor is this scary...I don't want to see the second floor!!!

  • at 1:00 I always thought it was Nemesis Bursting some window or door in the Police Station Ready to kill me...it was soo scary!

  • @andy119898

Omg me too! Like in RE 3 where he crashes through the window when your going up the stairs outside the save room in the police station.

  • @andy119898 LOL same dude ! hahaha

  • @andy119898 That's so true! Great to see we were a lot of people who felt the same thing!

  • @tomdanx actually I felt the same things after the replies...and Thats why this soundtrack is so memorable...this was the soundtrack of my nightmares,,,( i mean while playing the game) because I was like 12 when i Played RE3 for the 1st time...and that particular feeling was felt by any kid anywhere on the planet (I'm colombian) and this game is imprinted in my brain for ever...Resident Evil and my (our) childhood...two sides of the same coin!

  • @andy119898

Yeh I hear u, even worse when you have to go back to the station one last time to get a plug, all the zombies are dead and ur all alone with Mr X hanging around somewhere!!

  • @andy119898 ME TOOO oh my god that was freaky shit :O haha man this was the best i also love the main police hall theme :D

  • @andy119898 lol, why Nemesis? Nemesis wasn't in RE2. It doesn't make much sense.... please explain.

  • @capcom23 well, you see...they used the same music in Resident Evil 3 when you face nemesis in the entrance...right after he kills brad...I hope u understand my english isnt that good..;)

  • It's like all the songs from the RES2 OST are Spot-on. Great game with a Great Soundtrack= Masterpiece... and that is what RES1,2 is

  • who is the one motherfucker don't like this?

  • resident evil died after RE 3, btw, that crash sound @ 1:01 is enuff to steal 5 minutes off your life

  • @pyramidhead138 Nah, I would say after Code Veronica. That game, I consider, the last TRUE Resident Evil game. :{

  • resident evil died after RE 3

  • They need to make resident evil games like this hell i was like 10 when i payed this and i was so scared that at night i wouldnt sleep till i saw the sun come up then pass out so worried that lickers or something would pop out of any where in my room best game ever but know kids these days dont know a good horrer type game damn shame :'(

  • @Chozogod1 That's funny. My little brother is only 10 and recently, he cleared this game, 3, and CVX. And he RARELY got scared. His reaction to the "zombies through loading door" scare was a simple "huh, that never happened before." What does this mean?

  • hell yeah i like this there my favorite games

  • damn 29,000 views, there are some real fans out there after all huh

  • I swear When I first Played RE2 when I was Really Little this theme when I first heard it I almost Shit Myself Cause I was Waiting for something to come Flying out at me... Especially at the one section of this Song Where you hear that big SLAM at about a Minute in...

  • "you have to save the other survivors in the other rooms"

"........HOLY CRAP ARE YOU WILL SMITH?!!"

  • First floor of what?

  • @Barbe POLICE STATION YA!

  • everytime the noise of closing door appearead I almost pissed my pants...happy to feel the same thing after 12 years :D

  • I have been a RE fan since the first one came out. So there.

  • @samoanfun11 When the first one came out... i was 1 year old

  • they have to remake this game soon!

  • @onehitquake ya..like fasterrrrr xD

There aren't any good zombie horror games out there. Left4Dead lacks that "je ne sais quoi" :(

  • At 0:16 I hated that piano sound and best survival horror series ever : )

  • What i really want is for them to bring backt the survival horror theme that RE 1, 2 and 3 had.

RE4 and 5 aren't horror games, they are action games with monsters. But i doubt that they will go back that way, Capcom went into the way of money making trough the popular game genre, which is Action games.

  • They need to do Resident evil New York or Detroit.. climing up and tethering down from skyscrapers and stuf.. bring back the zombies, having find way around burning vehicles piled up, the art deco backgrounds, solving puzzles, atmosphere.. they can take a page from Dead Space2 and place it during initial outbreak so you see people getting attacked constantly and can elect to save or not wtih various consequences.. and make the map huge with changeable environments..

  • @RagedContinuum

maybe have supernatural element campaign for like chris redfield a la RE 3.5 because he's been slipped an LSD or something

  • @RagedContinuum Detroit, South Central LA, Brooklyn NY... these places are naturally scary... imagine with zombies running around?!

  • @LaSantaMuerte

would be awesome............... they need to do it!

  • LIKE THIS IF YOU WANTED THE RESIDENT EVIL FILMS TO HAVE THE SAME MEANING AND EMOTION YOU FELT DURING THE GAMES...NOT THE HATRED YOU FELT DURING THE TWILIGHT SAGA...

  • @wilsonmatt31 its not that that makes the films shit, its the crappy actors (cardboard)

  • This theme is on RE3 too and when the bang noise came on, i thought the nemesis broke in and i started shiting myself :P

  • @MystikTalon same here :D and the most horrible thing is that he really appears in this stage in police station when you think as always that the noise was just in the music :D

  • @MystikTalon same here , the first time i heard it i turned my playstation off, later i realized that it just part of the music.

  • ok i have still 14 bullets.. aha hmm 3sg shot left.. i better pick the shotgun..ok

.......FUCK WTF was in that WINDOW?!!

  • Listening to this music makes you imagine what would be like to be inside the police station during the initial outbreak, its almost like a movie playing through your head...

  • @Thanosmed89 Yep.

  • 0:58 DAT NOISE ()___()!!

  • For some reason that random tapping noise that occurs in this song makes me imagine the police typing up reports, it's haunting to think of how empty and lonely the police station becomes. I wonder if this was intentional or is it just me?

  • This song still give me the chills

  • loved the original but 2 is my favorite

  • The first few RE's amtospheres surpass tons of games today. RE set a benchmark that I feel has been rivalled by only a handful of modern games.

  • Wasn't this also in Code Veronica?

  • no creo que sea cierto lo anterior

  • R.I.P. Resident Evil

    1996-2002

  • @Staremonemesis

Hopefully RE:Revelations will bring it back to its roots.

  • @Staremonemesis That comment says alot haha ^^

  • @Staremonemesis not in my house 1996-forever

  • @Staremonemesis what about outbreak? :(

  • @MRresievil310 both outbreaks were good

  • @Staremonemesis Totally agree man, after Rebirth, 0 and Code Veronica, RE is dead for me... The 4 and 5 are a disaster, nothing to share with the firsts games, only "third person shooting", with no atmosphere, enigmas and zombies... We want back the old gameplay and the old blocked camera visual... The "survival horror" is dead, long live to the "survival horror"... R.I.P. Resident Evil 1996-2002

  • When you play Resident Evil 4, you think it's fucking Nemisis busting that damn door down!

  • @CombineSpecre300 mean 3

  • Oh my.......AHGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:01 i had my headphones on fullblast now i have something brown in my pants

  • playing this game...then @ 1:01 exactly then a zombie grabbed me through the boarded up hallway when i least expected it. scared the deeply living shit outta me.

  • Resident Evil 2 and 3:Nemesis - First Floor Police Department :)

  • haha!! not guts..) stupidity:P hah.. lol. i'd be scareddd.. like really bad, but the next night.. id do it again.. you ever find that fear is attractive? i do! haha i dont know why!!

    ahh... i love RE2....

  • alright graphics... great music... why aren't games like this made now a days? its all about graphics it seems like, i miss back then when it was the music that made the story and feeling of the game

  • god I love the music and atmoshpere in RE2, no other game in the series gets even close

  • First floor of what?

  • This is the theme most remembered from Resident Evil 2. Hearing this with all the lights off real late at night really sets the mood.

  • I like zombie games and movies like these. It's horrific, yet it has a professional, more serious feel. There is NOTHING off beat about it.

I wish more could be like that nowadays.

  • what does ost mean?

  • @Met0llicA OST = Original Soundtrack

  • I liked the remake of this tune in RE4. Man first time I played this game, at 1.01, that slam used to make me jump thinking one of the zombies had got in or something!

  • @kdreamland Where was this track in RE4???

just know the savegame track from RE2 in RE4

  • the music made this game. the gameplay is awesome but the music adds a completely diffrent dimension of horror, best resident evil game and survival horror game of all time hands down

  • LIKE THIS IF U ARE A TRUE RESIDENT EVIL FAN!!!!!!!

  • :::..:..::: its only a nightmare...

  • AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

  • One of my favourite game. Its hard what i heard and it supposed to be fair scary but meh..if i piss myself over a few scared parts so be it hahah

  • RE4 maybe my favorite resident evil game of all time. But i would kill to have a new resident evil nostalgic towards the first few installments in the series.i wanna be scared again!

  • seriously this theme is so scary... playing this when i was like 12 or something in the middle of winter after getting this for christmas, cold as hell outside, must stay in and continue to play

  • One of the best soundtracks ever

  • Out of all the numbered RE games 0, 1, REmake, 2, 3, 4, and 5 this is the only one I haven't played yet.

I'm getting this game some time soon, and I can't wait to experience this game for the first time.

  • @TyrantRE damn man, enjoy.. it really is classic

  • @TyrantRE

Lol u missed one of the best RE!

  • Bring back the scary resident evil, resident evil 4 was good, had at least some scary parts to it but 5 was shocking (not in the scary sense), the co-op mode ruined any chance of creepines

  • Love this game! The Resident evil franchise are the among the best games in the world in my opinion.

  • This music communicates perfectly with my bowels, it says

    "Shit!"

    And my bowels obey.

  • The sound at 1:00 is annoying

  • @zelu but it scares the shit out of you!!!

when i first heard it i was like " who the F**** is there" pressing the aiming button.

  • this song is seriously so damn scary... its soooooooo well done

  • At the beginning of this song, it sounds like the soundtrack Palace of Insane from the Code Veronica Soundtrack. Sort of sounded like the song that plays when you first enter Alfred's mansion basically.

  • Cette musique me faisais flipper quand j'y jouer avant, c'est la pire de toute façon, un pur moment de peur.

  • The music of this game scared me as well as the atmosphere. The zombies... not so much.

  • wow amazing + 1,000,000 stars !!!!!!!1 LOL

  • oh man this song makes me go to another times, the real RE topic, real scary, even this song makes me feel fear i love it :)

  • there is talks of a sixth, not a remake or a squel but more likely a reboot, something totally new, hopefully take it back to its evil routes but maybe new characters new storyline

  • @Dedokai32 If that ever happens, I vote we hunt down the Capcom directors with pitbulls and bloodhounds!

  • Loved this music, very creepy.

  • hey what pisses me off is capcom spoilt the resident evil series with RE 4+5 no creepy stuff theyre more like stink action games more than a survival horror but capcom could make a fortune with remakes for RE 2+3

  • Damn. I miss this! This music totaly fits the creepy vibes of the true RE. Alone, desolate, stressed, outgunned, etc. The list goes on and on. They made things seem so real. Like, how things would actually go down if something like this happened.

  • music to fuck to :)

  • the drone of what sounds like strings throughout is a sound that accompanies my most horrible nightmares, powerful stuff

  • Suddenly, a licker!

  • Wish I could play this game for the first time again. Fuck that the while series

  • Resident 0, 1, 2, and 3 are the old ones. If you ask me 4 is my favorite but nothing can beat the classics so if it wasn't for 4 it would be 2 is my fav! xD But resident 5 just plan sucks.

  • @SexyKakashi321 4 was amazing and one the best games i've ever played, but 2 otherwise for me yeah

  • @fuckamericanidiot lol but don't you agree that 5 sucks, btw nice name xD
