So many questions to answer...Muishkas, this is a Mokeskine sketch book journal. Great thick pages that stand up to most everything.
MusicGivesmeasmile, I downloaded it from iTunes. I have a lot of Gary Go's music and every bit of it is awesome.
ArtsyChik & Lastoldlady, thanks so much for your compliments. I use any paints Most of these paints are the 2/$1 craft paints from WalMart. My pages are shiny because I coat them as I "glue" things down with gloss gel medium (Golden's is the best, IMO.)

And no, I don't tend to ever use prompts but like a more organic approach to art journaling. That is just me. If you need some prompts to get you started, that is great. I always look at this art journal over and over again. It's so cool. I love how some of the pages are shiny. You did a wonderful job. It seems impossible to me to make such a good art journal. I really like your lettering techniques. Do you use stencils for the letters or can you actually do them that way?

Well, I HOPE you've found your passion for art again! You have a talent that is awesome and inspiring! I have just started my own homemade junk/art journal; and I am feverishly waiting for the UPS man to deliver my first jar ever of gesso, and my first watercolor pencils and crayons! I loved drawing when I was a kid, and now, I find that scrapbooking has led me to find my love for art again!.. I'm kinda excited about that, and I guess we'll just see what happens, right?! Your journal is beautiful! It did make sense and it like goes along with your life! I love it. I'm only 11 years old but I do great art. I once won an art competition. I made my own art journal and its really pretty but so far I only did 2 pictures that turned out great. It's is a really inspiring journal!! actually a few weeks ago i was starting to do one,,, however every time i open my new sketch book with all those white and empty pages,, I don't know how to start!!! can u give me some advice on it please? It's is so difficult to start!

Great job! Love the mix between bright colors and darker shades. How did u get each page so glossy? Just gel Medium? Love the "working out your demons" saying...lol AND about your art feeling forced....seems to me that an art journal helps us get back to natural, unforced art again! Great music 2 4 this! Bravo!

@ikerrilove I thought I had replied to your question on how I get my pages so shiny but, looking here now, I guess not. Sorry for the delay. I do not seal any of my pages and never have but I do tend to use gel medium (glossy) and/or Collage Pauge glossy as my glue on many of my pages. I'm sure it's my use of those products along with using magazine images that makes my pages look shiny.
