No, Henry directed it. The reason it's called Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is to have more people watch it. Tim Burton became a brand name for cult classics at the time after the successes of Beetlejuice and Batman. Infact, the reason he couldn't direct the film himself is because he had to direct Batman 2. He created the story, though. It's based on a poem he wrote in college. He asked Selick to direct it because he knew he could make it the way he envisioned it.
