This is very inspiring. Serious kudos for this man's skills and adventurous spirit, but: Al Gore is an globalist elite who shouldn't be admired for anything. Global warming, whether real, caused by man or nature, will be the issue used to put forth carbon taxing--essentially taxing us to breath.
@isit1984yet Hi "isit 1984yet", thanks for your comments, inclined to agree with your comment about Al Gore, and actually think his book is terrible but as a high profile figure thought the idea might get some attention. Re carbon and about taxing us to breathe, obviously an overstatement but appreciate the sentiment. Have you read Hardin's essay "Tragedy of the Commons"?
was watching the inconvient truth with a senior class and as always a few things popped up worthy of discussion. so many things he covers are in your little bit of footage here.
i thought i had already shown the class this piece of footage of yours, but apparently not. so next lesson you can be the main feature bob along with slyph and bobcat!!
the year 7s just saw your dvd and the assistant teacher said; 'nice area' whilst of course the girls were trying to note what similar physical features we both shared. the boys thought 'lots of whale'. interesting how our perceptions of something can be so similar and different at the same time..
Hi Mark, appreciate your continuing interest and the comment. I shall have to try and produce something a little professional if you are going to show this stuff to your students.
awesome work bob. only watched david suzuki the other night on the 'aussie channel' in hanoi, vietnam on the whole issue of global warming and guess what;
opened up with the whole notion that glacial melt in greenland is actually not only occurring on the sub-surface, but also as worst feared underneath the glacier itself creating a lubricant type effect. end result; possibility if greenland was too subside away, sea levels would rise 3 and 1/5 mtrs. even i find that dubious. any thoughts??
Hi Mark, thanks for the comments. I have heard of this sub-surface lubricating effect, not sure what the current thinking is on this with Greenland but certainly of concern. I'd say the human race is heading for some torrid times ahead, but what else is new.
