    Your f***ing kidding...

  • Is this at the area associated with the diamond mine/koa or some less publicized locale? I'd very much like to go find some of these beauties for myself. My father in law passed away in april, he was from Herkimer NY and I know my mother in law would LOVE if I brought her home a gem from his home town. Any info you can share would be great.

  • Where is this at?

  • It looks fake... Please tell me that its not!

(and dont think I'm a noob that thinks that herkimer diamonds are realy diamonds... And please stop calling them like that!)

  • since u work so hard to find them are they worth good money or are u just a hobby mineral finder?

  • I would stick my hand hand in it :D then scream to freak everyone out cause I saw that in a movie :)

  • love the feeling of smooth sides back in the hole and you know you got killer stuff in it

  • Ehmygawd!!!! Me and the fam went up last year. We ran into one of my dads old friends and his girlfriend. he pulled out probably 4 or 5 baceball sized ones. one had a pocket of 50 million year old water in it. i had ssooo much fun.

  • @Caitierose17 Glad you had fun !

    Seeya there sometime

  • @Caitierose17 50 mil old water !!!!!!,do you know what a scientist would pay for a sample of that water ,i can tell you the finder would be laughing all the way home and forever more

  • Vid looks old so you may have taken care of it already but youll probably want to grind that mushroom head off your chisel, those chunks can REALLY hurt if they break off.

  • @TheCaptainLulz I have scars on my belly from chisel fragments when I used to mine these things!

  • very interesting

  • where do you find those??

  • I heard they all very small...so what is true?

  • Make the hole bigger and shine a light in there!..Make sure there isnt a poisonous snake in it, before you reach your hand in!

  • What's up with the wacked sound on this vid?

  • how do you know where the pocket is????????????

  • Nice score! Do you believe crystals to have metaphysical properties?

  • Thanks, i will take your advice next time we go! haha hopefully we get lucky like you guys. =)

  • wow. those are some nice ones. But how do you find where the pockets are? me and my family went today and all we found were small ones=(

burt it was still fun. anyway if you could get back to me th would be awesome. Thank you=)

  • Hello, glad you had fun doing the collecting thing with your family. The pockets are alot of hard work!!!! There are all on the same level , just follow the holes on the ledge.

Thanks for your comments and hope to see you there sometime soon. I am glad you enjoyed the vid. See Ya!! Joe

  • i'm just wondering as to why u call them herks, i've never heard that one before

  • How do you even know where to look for the pockets at?

  • Nice pocket! I have hit plenty myself... I have a single Herk thats 9 1/2 inches and weighs 11 lbs. My largest was 45 lbs. but it was shattered...

  • c pas la moitié d'un con

  • quick man quick you don't know speed but you're not also demicate . fuck

  • u ever hit a gas pocket alson how can u tell there a pocket and where would u find them

  • Another great job Joe. Later.

  • Thanks for filming that; finding a pocket like that has to be one of the rockhound's greatest thrills. That last matrix piece was amazing... I'd hammer for a week or two to get a killer like that. Thanks again!

    Icehut

  • Thank you, our family has been collecting herkimers since 1959 and have hit well over 400 pockets.Have you ever gone? Thanks again

  • Collected there maybe ten years ago, was just about the most fun collecting I've ever had, got some exquisite small xls but had to quit after a few days cos my arm was going numb! I'm seriously thinking about returning this season and going after a pocket or two.

  • no generaly just chisels and feathers is what most people use might take a week to move enough rock or it might take ten seconds to clear dirt

  • i like it, had to have been a small charge not to break those whoppers
