@Krylov223 Thats why I am anxious to see the extended cut. There is a big chunk from the movie that was cut so that it would get a PG-13 rating. Some of that may help the story.... (hopefully) either way I am happy he tried something a little different and original.

Nice visuals, hot chicks, action scenes and a good concept doesn't help when you have a terrible story. I left this film depressed cause I had such high hopes for it. It still hits to this day.
This is the most underrated film in decades! It's grossly misunderstood by a society that lacks thought and imagination. They only like things given to them the hard way- and ONLY if it comes easy with an explanation (Inception).
Cannot wait for this film to be released. It seems so far away.

It's got character development, and the film is character driven. It leaves you thinking. That was Snyder's plan, which is why it's called "Sucker Punch"

@deadduderc75 Well, DVDs can only hold so much. So the extended cut is on Blu-ray because they can hold up to 5 times than what a DVD can. And it might not be much, but those 18 minutes can actually be a lot.
@MadonnasMrDj wow! just 18 minutes of extra footage?,in an interview zack snyder told that he cut almost 50 minutes of footage to get the pg 13 rating, he said that between the scenes he cut out of the movie was a sex scene, the introduccion of the other female characters and he changed the original ending for a more friendly one,cause apparently in the original this girls scape from the place and she returns home and burned her house down with her stepfather still inside.....
@kratos3821 Most of that was never filmed. From what I heared, almost 25 minutes were filmed, but the other 7 or so weren't mean't to be seen, it wasn't what Zack intended. The full 18 minutes he adds are what he trulay wanted us to see, and by the way, 5 of those minutes are solely for "Love Is the Drug", so we only really get about 10-11 minutes of extra footage (added fight scenes, the High Roller scene, etc.)
@MadonnasMrDj I totally agree with you, except that I really am not all that bothered by the fact that the DVD will just be "normal" while the BluRay will be "special" because the theatrical release was SO awesome that it probably wasn't missing all that much, anyways...

It's got character development, and the film is character driven. It leaves you thinking. That was Snyder's plan, which is why it's called "Sucker Punch"
Inception was straight forward, It explained everything, which didn't leave much for the imagination. It was over-hyped, which is why people loved it.

@32145spiderman If you can understand Sucker Punch I'm pretty sure you can get something out of Inception. It's not your average Spiderman "beat up some bad guys and save the girl" basic kind of plot.

@TheSmithsChannel - Agree 99% with your (1st post) comment. I'm never this critical of movies because I wont see movies where the Trailer just leaves a bad taste-but I had to see it at a $3 cinema and wanted to know "why it flopped at the box office" because it has everything "they" want to see out there - its the reason why Hollywood is churning out crap. I see various genres of movies, this is pretty to look at but as empty as a new generation of movie goers. We're screwed :(

@MadonnasMrDj Just watched the movie two days ago. It was decent, but I felt it tried too hard to be deep and meaningful and trendy at the same time. It was a good plot with good talent, but I felt like the script fell a little flat and made for a bland movie given everything they put into it.

@TheTrailerCREAT0R Is it really? Well, in this case, I think that it fits perfectly. I mean, there's already a large cult following for this film, and it was released three months ago. It obviously didn't get the attention it deserved.
@deadduderc75 Well, DVDs can only hold so much. So the extended cut is on Blu-ray because they can hold up to 5 times than what a DVD can. And it might not be much, but those 18 minutes can actually be a lot.

@MadonnasMrDj wow! just 18 minutes of extra footage?,in an interview zack snyder told that he cut almost 50 minutes of footage to get the pg 13 rating, he said that between the scenes he cut out of the movie was a sex scene, the introduccion of the other female characters and he changed the original ending for a more friendly one,cause apparently in the original this girls scape from the place and she returns home and burned her house down with her stepfather still inside.....

@kratos3821 Most of that was never filmed. From what I heared, almost 25 minutes were filmed, but the other 7 or so weren't mean't to be seen, it wasn't what Zack intended. The full 18 minutes he adds are what he trulay wanted us to see, and by the way, 5 of those minutes are solely for "Love Is the Drug", so we only really get about 10-11 minutes of extra footage (added fight scenes, the High Roller scene, etc.)

@MadonnasMrDj I totally agree with you, except that I really am not all that bothered by the fact that the DVD will just be "normal" while the BluRay will be "special" because the theatrical release was SO awesome that it probably wasn't missing all that much, anyways...

@MadonnasMrDj I understood everything about it. It wasn't that complex. But based on your logic, if you understand a movie, you should think it's good. Really? Ok. The movie wasn't that good. I enjoy it, on a guilty pleasure level. The characters were completely flat, and the plot, which isn't near as misunderstood by people as you seem to think, was pretty shallow.
But thats the popular thing now, I guess, to just blame a movie's shortcomings on the audience by calling them dumb.

@yankeescf04 Like I said, the characters weren't flat at all. And if you understand a movie, it should be somewhat enjoyable, but not necessarily a favourite. And the plot was straight-forward, not shallow.
Like I said, the audience must be really stupid not to understand a rather simple film. And Sucker Punch actually made more than it's budget, so I wouldn't call it a 'shortcoming'. I just think it's sad how stupid people appreciate crap like Transformers 3- now THAT'S shallow.

@MadonnasMrDj Right. I hate when people say The Transformers movies and say they're amazing. Sucker Punch has some strong ideas, and I like it's general structure... but really... just because the character's have a part in the story and they do stuff doesn't mean they are well developed characters. Every single girl in the movie had the same personality, except Baby Doll.
I've watched the movie 4 times, and I do enjoy it, but the negative reviews are not unwarranted.
