thanks! the exhaust exiting through the roll pan is a very cool look indeed. not only does it look good, but it was the only practical way to get the exhaust out from under the vehicle with the lowered suspension. the fishtail tips are welded on.

1) it's on air springs (a.k.a. bags), not hydraulics.

2) the paint has not been intentionally made to LOOK old...it IS old. there are several layers of paint that have been applied by various owners over the past 68 years. if you saw the truck in person you would see this to be true.

3) the truck is powered by a mid-70's sbc

this perticular truck looks like its been painted to look like its fresh out of the barn. its a cool trick, just requires a few layers of different color paints and some sanding in the right places.

It has hydraulics to lift it for driving but yes a ratrod is atypically a weathered "out of the barn" resto on a highschool or these days 2008 budget! Cars like this are usually more focussed on performance and looks second but what do I know I've never owned a dumb car!
