these faces haunt me with thoughts of all the lost childhoods, memories and lives. forever forgotten, nothing is left of them but remains underground somewhere and a few picture. we look at it as just a body, but it was a living person. someone with emotions and memories and a family. it really upsets me to wonder as we advance, so do the crimes against humanity we commit, what lies ahead of us?
You did a great job.. I am ashamed to be related at all to the scums that perpitrated who in their eyes were meaninless.. Im going to visit it next year.. gonna be one tough trip.. but i garentee it will change my life forever <3
@gerbilsocks@gerbilsocks Don't be ashamed of your heritage :) There were lots of Germans that actually aided the Jews in hiding, as well. Americans did a lot of bad things too, but I'm not ashamed of my heritage. It's important to realize that bad things happened in our countries, but that we can learn from those terrible mistakes and hopefully prevent them in the future.
@Firestar7218 People are people, no matter were they are from. They are going to make mistakes and they are going to do bad things, it doesn't matter were they are from. :)
i been to aushvitz, and they just ran through a few facts about the camp, there was nothing of the horrific details or sick things that went on, watch the world at war series on aushvitz for a more detailed account of the tourchurs endured by the victims !
EXCELLENT VIDEO! WELL DONE!! I WENT TO AUSCHWITZ LAST NOVEMBER ON A GOVERNMENT SCHEME THAT 4 PEOPLE WERE CHOSEN FOR FROM THE UK. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT IT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER, AND I SEE LIFE THROUGH A KNEW PERSPECTIVE. I WILL BE GOING TO ISRAEL THIS SUMMER TO VISIT YAD VASHEM. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO <3
i remember in grade 5 we learnt about the holocaust and that is why i got up in the morning because i knew thats what we were talking about. Even now on my spare time i read books and documents of the holocaust. I hate it when people laugh and dont take the holocaust seriously.
God this video made me feel so sad ;/ all the people they tortured.. even babies ;/ It's horrible. I hope hitler is burning hotter than any flame in hell right now.
@GoldenSun96 thank you so much for your kind words.. so many people who view this video don't take it seriously and make light of what happened. It's so important to really understand and respect what happened, so we don't make the same mistake twice.
@Firestar7218 I'm not like those people who just aren't bothered about it and make fun of it... All those stupid people don't even know! Imagine if THEY were gassed, then maybe they'd understand ;/ But no. It really depresses me thinking about those people who'd died at auschwitz
I checked all the info. It varied from day to day, of course. They could gas up to 20,000 people in one day. I don't think they ever reached those numbers, but it was possible for them.
@Firestar7218 At Madanek in Poland, during Operation Erntefest, the Nazi's shot 18,000 people in one day. The largest recorded one day killing in any camp.
@clintonearlwalker I hadn't heard of that one... that's crazy. I just don't understand how you could sit through that and then pretend that it didn't happen.
@Firestar7218 Just type in Aktion Erntefest in Google and many details are available on Wikipedia. It was Himmlers response to various revolts especially the one at Sobibor. It took place in one day at Madanek, 2 other camps were involved, taking 2 days in those. Trawniki was one, I can't spell the other. The 2 day total for all 3 camps was estimated at 42,000. Nearly all Jews as Himmler wanted to kill them all, as they were losing the war.
yeah it really is... I was watching this video the other day because I hadn't seen it in about a year or so, and just watching all the footage of the people in the concentration camps... it's horrible to think about.
she wasn't at Auschwitz when she died :'D She was at Auschwitz for a bit, but then she was moved with many other women to Bergen-Belsen, where she died.
@Firestar7218 ooooo so why was she moved from auschwitz.... was the chambers full or something, plus i also heard rumors she could've been moved to sobibor or trebllinka... i'm Polish but i was born in america and finnaly this year i go to Poland, have you ever been
@irongut66 I actually don't know, sorry :( I never really studied Anne Frank very deeply, I just read the book for school :'D
Ahhh that's cool! I've traveled a lot, but I've never been anywhere in Europe :( I hope you have a great time, though, it sounds like it will be an awesome experience :) Don't be afraid to try new things!
no she died after her sister a couple of days (5) before auchwitz was liberated she died three she died a coupld of days after her sister mostly of scabbies and disease

Pretty sure it was apri '45.

Everywhere I looked it said January =/
April 1945 was when all the concentration camps were liberated by, to my knowledge. Some were earlier than that; but none later.
