  • Kind of looks like a young Bruce Springsteen

  • ola

can anyone tell me where this is from???

    ta

  • @frizzysa i have this video on vhs, its keegan on keegan

i got it years ago form my uncle...im a man utd fan...but its a great video...its a football fans video not just a pool/ necastle fans vid

think the vhs was made in 1992, he was new castle manager at the time

great inter views with toshak on there also

  • Is it me or does he speak really well

  • Classic KK - he really worked hard to make himself into a world class player. I just wish he had been fit during the 1982 World Cup, it might have turned out differently for England if he had have been. Funny how he seemed to lack a little bit of confidence during this early interview, certainly more sure of himself in later years. Probably the influence of Shankly and the Boot Room I suspect!

  • e by gum

  • fanastic great player would kevin keegan get the chance today? especially with managers like wenger and benitz who seem to rather foreign talent over british and irish young players

  • By 'eck tha cannat gie im room on t'wing tho but!

The making of the legend King Kev.

  • Seemed like a really nice kid.

  • very well spoken for a 17 year old, and very humble. He always puts the fans first... playing wonderful football as a first requirement the result ..its a crying shame they didn't win it that year...( and i'm a utd fan)...i'd love to see him at united, when fergie goes, even if utd finish last! hah

  • @c64c64c64

You wouldn't finish last. I hate it when people (not u) make a distinction between playing pretty football and winning trophies. They're not mutually exclusive. Teams who play football properly win stuff. Keegans Newcastle were an exception to the rule.

Keegan would win stuff at man u. No doubt. And the football would be mouth-watering if you let him loose with City's money.

  • This footage is from quibell park in scunthorpe.

  • Awkward interview!..He seems really self-conscious, bless him...

  • The 17 year old Keegan interview was amazing! What a lovely intelligent lad he was. Apart from putting on a few pounds and the grey hair, he's hardly changed. Fantastic servant for Liverpool. I thought he was irreplaceable at Liverpool....then King Kenny arrived!

  • Bless him!

  • He looks sheepish and guilty and seems to worry. What was going on at home I wonder?

  • He was a kid giving an interview. HOw did you expect him to look?

  • open, honest, uncomplicated, eager...like most normal kids. He doesn't.

  • Got a problem man?

  • This was 1979? Good quality. He's a true legend, hero, and the Geordie messiah. Any new owners of our great club with any sense will reinstate him immediatley.

  • 1970

  • A True legend we are just counting down the hours til he returns come home KK We are all missing you

  • he was so much more yorkshire then. We will miss him :( his treatment was terrible

  • love the glasses

  • looks a bit like jimmy milner here :S

  • haha you're right. Maybe that's why he liked Milner and wanted him to stay? cuz he reminded him of himself as a lad.

  • he was on trial at coventry and jimmy hill said he was too small, what the hell were you thinking jimmy?

  • I think it was Noel Cantwell (then city manager) Who turned him down due to his lack of stature, Saying he would never cut it in the big time!

  • interesting, i heard it was jimmy hill!! whoever it was they made a big mistake!!

  • 1968 < NOT 1970....

  • whoo would have thought wat aplayer he would be at seventeen!!!!

  • I am 100% Evertonian and a Scouser, but Keegan is undoubtedly the best player I have ever personally seen.

  • cool!!i'm a liverpool supporter though but i'm not a scouser i'm a londoner!!!!

  • lol at the interviewer

  • hey i was named after this guy too !!

  • Yo i was named after this guy ahahah

  • Nato2uk- re - "Black foreign bastards".

If this is what you think then fuck off away from football and join the BNP. Clueless moron.

    Sickening.

  • lmao fuck you

  • Imao - More proof that you a clueless mindless inarticualte moron. Nazi.

  • Agreed. Blame Arsend Wenker for the decimation of our national league. By the way Keegan looks like Lee Evans in this, only of course with absolutely no sense of humour. Defensively Evans has the edge too.

  • yeah the cunts have took over, fuck all like it used to be.

twats these days dont have a fucking clue, soft bastards

  • At least he didn't hava a mullet in those days...

  • Whys this 17 year old kid sniffing so much?He must have already met up with a very young Robbie Fowler on Merseyside.

  • why are you masturbating over a player who is old enough to be fowlers dad are you a dirty cunt mmm stay on the wirral nonce

  • You are clearly very disturbed Kirkbyla. Very disturbed.

  • A true professional. Puts people like Drogba to shame.

  • Did Kevin Keegan have a kestrel back then?

  • from mcfc fans - good luck KK -

  • go on keegan , he has passion bring on united revenge.

  • aye, us jordy's LUV Keegan lyk. He's git good-lookin' n that. I think we'll win the wurld cup, I do, lyk.

  • Learn how to spell Geordie before you pretend to be one.

  • you dumb mong - do I *really* have to explain the joke, you inbred fuckwit?

  • Oh it was a joke. Thanks for pointing that out. Stereotypes are lazy and rooted in ignorance. I might have got it if I was on the same level as you.

  • looks about 30 here.

  • Looks closer to 13 ...

  • Back in the days when it was True Football.

Keegan was at his best definetely in 96-98 with players like ginola, batty, asprilla ferdinand.

We were unstoppable. That was true football. No fame. Just football.

    Good luck Keegan my son

  • Before Sam was sacked I wrote on this board how much I loved the guy for what he has done for the club. Little did I know he'd be back a fortnight later. Good luck Kev.

  • And guess what? He is back. KEEGAN IS BACK. The messiah returns.

  • Fuck me... It must have been hard being interviewed by a genuine Thunderbird puppet!

  • Legend. Still love that man for what he gave to us in the 90's.

  • Those were the days when footballers aspired to play for their country and didnt just see it as a waste of time, dragging them away from their estates and model girlfriends.

  • Seems a lot more genuine than the mulit-millionaires shielded by their publicists that we get today...

  • i love Keegan he is a legend

  • Great story - compelling; and rich.

What a legend that King Kev. Good lad.

  • Kevin Keegan was never young

  • Sounds like Billy Casper in Kes. Brilliant.

  • very nice chap then

  • Enjoyed that, cheers.
