  • Thanks for the response

  • what channels can u get do have to have a converter for a tube tv

  • @hollywoodozz To receive over-the-air digital TV with an analog set you must have a converter box. I get over thirty channels.

  • what a crock of bull**** digital tv sucks. If you live out in the country, you are screwed, When analog went off the air. That was the end of tv in rural areas. The government wants everybody to pay for cable or satellite. No doubt the media giants were behind the whole thing.

  • @lukeeeisme another little known fact is that the digital signals are weaker than the old analog ones. Some rural areas which have repeater stations are allowed to still use analog.

  • Thwart the jackbooted political-industrial conspirists !

  • fucking Americans cant afford cable

  • @sodhaksingh - this fucking American doesn't pay some corporation $60 a month so I can watch programs that still have commercials!

  • @orthiconghost ionly pay 35 and get top channels

  • @orthiconghost good antenna

  • hello lovely video is there anything i can buy to increase the lentgh of the cable that is on my indoor tv aerial best wishes paul uk

  • @paulboon - check your local electronics store for a connector and extra length of cable.

  • Yeah thats going to look realy good stuck on the wall of your nice room, next to a new digital tv set.

  • digital tv blows dirty dog dicks.

i miss analog tv. little snow or static, you could still watch your shit box.

with digital it's all or nothing. you either get a crystal clear perfect picture or a frozen screen that skips like a scratchy dvd.

why aren't there any pirate tv operators broadcasting on the old analog frequencies?

god knows there's still piles of analog tv's out there, slowly trickling into the landfill leaching lead into the drinking water (their real motive all along.)

  • @jwallbanger great post! I did hear once upon a time about low watt analogue TV stations but I don't know what happen to that!

  • How does it connect to the tv?

  • How far are you from the transmitter source ???? I thought when the HDTV switch over occured all channels would be UHF, but here in Oklahoma some channels are still VHF....I am having noise interference issues...From my understanding HDTV was supposed to be not as affected by noise and atmosphere conditions...I am running a large antenna in the attic with amplifiers...HDTV is hit and miss depending on atmosphere conditions and noise from other sources....

  • @avionicswirenut I'm about 4 miles from the transmitters. I receive about 90% of the available channels and yes, some are on UHF and some on VHF. I do a little adjustment to get a good picture. I also have experienced some atmospheric interference.

  • @orthiconghost I am about 80 to 100 miles away from transmitters....With the Antenna in the attic I am losing some signal, but what really sucks is all of the noise interference ffrom just about any electronics....My amps might be part of the problem....I am looking at an antenna that is small with a rotator and is supposed to have 150 mile range with the built in amp....I am sceptical due to it's small size....I like building my own antennas for my radios, I might do a TV antenna for fun...

  • @avionicswirenut I can only vouch for my antenna at 10 miles from any transmitter. Tonight it is windy and oddly enough, it improves reception on three channels. I'd be interested in how you solve your signal problems.

  • damn it back to figuring out to get my converter box to work since they cut off my cable

  • ever hear of fractal antennas?

  • @lustyboy9 can you make one for free?

  • i use my daughters braces!!!

swapping channels however makes her flinch and eyes roll back .

  • @kingbleah LOL!

  • @kingbleah hahahahahahahahahaha2f*****g funny brings tears to my eyes thank u hahahahahahahahahaha

  • @thisshitisdeep1 Thanks - I should give away free tissues to wipe away the tears.

  • @kingbleah hahaha

  • thx sooo much Mr. R.H. "orthiconghost" for ur advice!..i too have the same DTV (Magnavox SDTV tuner) converter box as ur's cause i don't care for..CABLE..too much monthly costs..though i miss my "Wrestling" programs but thats ok..someday i will have to make my own HD Antenna..but for now im using a standard RCA (rabbit w/a UHF round & signal dial) antenna!.just place it near the window & u have a great picture..i do get most channels..now their showing 24hr cartoons & B&W classic shows! =0]

  • @tornmask You're welcome. Yes, I get the movie channel THIS and an new one came on the air Jan. 1st called Antenna TV. I haven't had cable since the '80's! In fact, I can't tell you how many people have taken a look at the clear picture and asked, "Do you have cable again?" From which part of the world do you hail?

  • i'm gonna try to make my own converter box out of transistors. no more china crap.

  • @mattybock Good luck dear viewer! My converter box of course came with a remote and it had batteries INCLUDED - - - from China, of course.

  • Thats pretty ghetto..ima try it.

  • @GhettoDynamiczInc Thanks for the comment. Good luck!

  • Thanks for over 25,000 views! I also just found out that the Portland, OR viewing area has the most over-the-air viewers in the country. Keeping free TV real!

  • where I live I only get 8 channels :(

  • @faxmanloveswaffles Really? Where are you? I'm in the greater Portland, OR area and now get over 35 channels. Crazy man!

  • @orthiconghost i live in a 1.1 sq mi town :P it's VERY small

  • @faxmanloveswaffles I see. How close are you to the transmission towers?

  • @orthiconghost About 50 mi. from the actual news place but probably 5-10 mi from the first transmission antenna

  • @faxmanloveswaffles well, there is always cable or dish (shudder).

  • um.......so......lol? im sure ur capable of more since ur like dale from "king of the hill" cuase ur both weird and crazy being like him you should of gone overkill on the antenna but got this o.0

  • @chickenpoper He is one of my favorite animated characters!

  • @orthiconghost :D lawl

  • what a weirdo

  • @Sterling20073 I'm a freak...I'm a weirdo...

  • You Could have at least, showed the Channels you were getting with that Dumb Antenna,, LOL, and for sure it would NOT work in the USA, .. LOL, D U M B

  • @Duddie82 We didn't show any channels over concerns of copyright infringement. I received 32 channels in Portland, OR, USA! You're just another you tuber whose main goal is to belittle and not join in any constructive debate. I hope you're not teaching your children to win arguments by saying something is DUMB.

  • this will only work if the transmitter is just up the street, or many kilowatts output, forget it in the uk, most are miles away! Boy you really like to 'stick it to the man' don't you?

  • @PhobiaGuy Actually at the time we made this video I was living approx. 4 miles from the transmitters and received all the available channels. And I sure do: Power to the People!

  • @PhobiaGuy I think people in the US would have more problems with this "free" antenna system than in the UK (in fact, I bet it would work where I live - 20 miles from Crystal Palace). In the US, the transmitters are not always co-located, and they are spread all over the band. And you might be over a hundred miles from one...

  • @filmnet Thanks for information.

  • That $10 Magnavox (i.e. Philips) box is a POS.

  • @pf126p Thanks for the info. BTW, is it just me or did the Chinese economy benefit the most from the switch-over? I noticed that even the included batteries were made in China.

  • @orthiconghost The Chinese, the Dutch and the longshoremen.

  • @pf126p HA! How could i have forgotten the longshoremen???

  • Thanks for pushing Free DTV Antenna to over 14,000 views!

  • @orthiconghost - now over 15,000 views! Glad to see that it is helpful.

  • 13,000 views! Thanks everyone for your support.

  • You can buy some cleaning products and clean your house with they money Now you saved!!

  • u can use the cable wire if you cut the end off and unbrade the outer wire cut about 3 inches of the outer black sheeth then cut the white plastic about 1 inch from top then get 2 meatal coat hangers and twist the coper middle wire two 1 hanger and do the same on the other wire and coat hanger hang it on the window and dont let them touch plug in to you tv or converter box pretty good signal give it a try

  • or you can just hook a wire to it and cut off some of the rubber and let the copper stick out that will do the same thing but ok if you want to rip off a stereo antenna go ahead

  • This guy is hysterical! What a funny video!

  • Thanks. We thought it was funny, too.

  • nice, i am going to break my old rado atenna and make one, thanks

  • UPDATE: as the weather gets bad (i.e. clouds) I've noticed that 2 channels have a bad signal. There is lots of tiling, but adjustments can be made.

  • Thanks a bunch.

  • cool
