Great Engine, There is one good thing about it. If you happen to break a drive (Fan) belt at least they are easily accessible. Have always liked the CAT Motor. It is a pity they are not making them any more for trucks.
@LamborghiniV12M I'd strongly reconsider. These engines burn oil, fuel mileage is really not that great. On a tandem Freightliner Columbia daycab, with a C13, 10 speed manual and 3.90 ratio 4.5 mpg was average. These don't sound good. The C12 sounded better, had a nice powerful and loud jake. How ever, it burned more oil, got worse mileage and they were known for coming apart destroying the block for no reason at all. I would seriously consider a Series 60 1st choice, Cummin's 2nd choice.
I dont know of any with the 8V-92, but they used the M-11 the most followed by the Series 60. Even the 6V-92 in a T2145 is a rare find by comparison. Now MCI did use the 8V-92 mostly up until 1998 along with the series-60.
@j45007 there have never been 6v's or 8v's in the 2145. It was introduced in 1997, when the series 60 was the stock DD engine. Most 2145's came with Cummins m-11's though. In some of the early 815 and t800's there were 6v92's and 8v92's but never on a 2145. DD had quit mass producing them by the time these rolled out.
The alternators are two 12 volts. The starter is avail in 12 volt, but this particular one is 24 volt. I appreciate your comments, viewing and subscription. Oh nevermind you didnt subscribe, sorry. Thanks again, -BOGAR! Have a great night and an even better one tomarrow!
What's that thing to the right of the alternators? The thing that looks like a small V6 engine :). AC compressor, hydraulic pump, air compressor?

awesome!!
I am looking for an RV......but being the piston head that I am, I will only buy one with a Caterpillar engine in it.
Right now I am hoping to find one with a C13 in it.

Was there ever any 8V-92 powered T2145? I know ABC had a 6v-92 power T2145 in NJ.

Wasn't it between 2005 and 2007 that they intro'd the Cat C13 engine into the T-Series lineup?
