Did you seriously say an Okapi is the mix between a giraffe and a zebra?

Often times when mixed breeds, such as a Liger (Tiger & Lion), are sterile. You could call it nature's way of preventing the continuation of this. OR well, attempt.

Okapi are naturally wild creatures, not a hybrid of any sort and in fact due reproduce just fine.

Okapi are a naturally occurring creature. What in god's name gave you the idea that a Giraffe and a Zebra would mate to begin with?

And some of those animals are the same because it's only the breed of the parents that matters, the gender of the breed is irelevant.

@skiierbabe1313 I concur it is real not fake. Research zorse in google. This one is a cross between a Pinto or Paint horse and a Zebra which is what gives it its unusual coloring. Equine color genetics is complex but this is what you will get when you cross a Pinto/Paint horse with a Zebra.

The Okapi isn't a cross between a zebra and giraffe, its just a rare wild animal of its own kind. I think it was only just discovered in the 50s - I believe they're very rare but they are NOT hybrids. I remember reading about them as a kid as they were still a very recent discovery back then. Its not possible to cross Giraffes with Zebras. Giraffes aren't Equines

The Okapi is a species all its own that was only discovered in the 50's. I remember reading about it while growing up in school. I learned about the Okapi in high school. It is NOT a hybrid. Its resembles a giraffe more than anything else in. (called Zebroids in Germany) there is a Zorse breeder in Texas that has a website. You won't find a Zorse on a Safari anymore than you will find a mule. They are rare hybrids usually horse dam & zebra sire...
