@TheShaderin I don't believe anyone is fighting, however, it's clear whoever posted this does not speak English, yet appreciates Bobby McFerrin's craft, which is a great thing! It is also a great thing to be educated and knowledgeable about that, which one speaks. Ignorance is NOT bliss. I am glad the person who posted this, likes Bobby McFerrin, but they too probably appreciate now knowing what they were really listening to. Who invented Jazz is subjective. I'd say Miles, others may differ.

He has such a pure falsetto and so smoothly transfers. His breathing technique is amazing. This man exudes music. He is very concerned about educating our young about the classics. It is cool to be able to rap, but having a well-rounded education in music just makes you a better performer.
msailers - you are exactly right and that's the ONLY way I, as a deaf/hard of hearing person can get past "singing" and enjoy the music I do. Most singers I can't understand the lyrics and so here, I've loved what I hear of Bobby McFerrin because he is not singing "words" proper, but just expressing the emotion of the song through his voice. It helps my hearing is in the low frequencies so I tend to listen to male vocalists more then female, or female with lower voices (like Diana Krall etc.)
what a pretentious title to this vid..... we all get that bobby makes his voice like an instrument. But I don't see him playing any instrument. It's called singing and he's brilliant at it. Don't take that away from him by calling it "playing". I play 13 or more instruments and can't sing at all..... this man can SING... fuck playing.
He moves his hands as if he's playing an instrument, something he does with other songs and "implied" instruments as well. It seems clear "playing" in the title is thus meant tongue-in-cheek. Have a nap and un-bunch your panties.
I would agree with you in some small part, but there is one problem: Singing is joyous, but the fact he "plays" while he sings is somewhat transcendental. I treat the voice like the instrument, but i am still learning it. I have learned the trumpet for whats going on 15 years and it very much feels like i am playing a part of myself. When it gets right down to it, I would much rather feel like I was playing my voice than just singing. its just more fun.
tres jolie!

This is funny. It is Round Midnight by Thelonious Monk with Herbie Hancock on piano. It is not JS Bach.
