  • tres jolie!

  • This is funny. It is Round Midnight by Thelonious Monk with Herbie Hancock on piano. It is not JS Bach.

  • well apparently bach wrote jazz music..interesting..

  • @TheBlackJacksItalia hahahahahaahahaha thumb up!

  • i don't know how you could mistake this for Bach, but I'm glad you did. I hadn't ever seen him do this one.

  • hey, it isnt bach,

it's Round Midnight, a Jazz standard (by Thelonius Monk.. says "The real book")

    anyway, its very nice, thanks

    Bye, Saludos!

  • trumpet

  • sorry trumpet

  • love his sax

  • Don't fight about what is it....Bach-Jazz.....Jazz-Bach......the guy invented Jazz,so even though it is not Bach... yet it is...

  • @TheShaderin I don't believe anyone is fighting, however, it's clear whoever posted this does not speak English, yet appreciates Bobby McFerrin's craft, which is a great thing! It is also a great thing to be educated and knowledgeable about that, which one speaks. Ignorance is NOT bliss. I am glad the person who posted this, likes Bobby McFerrin, but they too probably appreciate now knowing what they were really listening to. Who invented Jazz is subjective. I'd say Miles, others may differ.

  • hehehe this is not Bach, although is stil great!

  • Holy crap, is that Herbie Hancock on piano!?!? yet again two masters get together to create a masterpiece

  • This isn't Bach!! it's round midnight. Btw OMFG, Both Bobby mcFerrin and Herbie Hancock looks young here!!

  • This guy is great but from a Bach listener, I don't thing that is Bach

  • rastafarians, does he look like emperor Selasie I or am i mistaken?

  • How could this have been labeled Bach? In no way does this sound like him...

  • how does he do that?! he is a true musical genius!

  • There should be a Bobby McFerrin on every Synthesizer

  • BRILLIANT, gotta love bobby!!!!

  • !!!!!ROUND MIDNIGHT!!!!!!! Monk.

  • genius? this guy belongs to a circus as a freak of the nature...

  • @kalvonstein2 ????

  • Are you sure he hasn't stuffed a sax down his throat??

  • @jonman247 More like with Miles Davis in mind.

  • How I love this guy.

    He is amazing.

    Thanks.

    :)

  • It really sounds like a trumpet with a mute ! Amazing.

  • ops, you mean "Round Midnight", not Bach.

  • hartbung

    yeah you are stupid

why u talk about your self like that

  • Bobby's not the only jazz master performing 'Round Midnight'. That's Herbie Hancock on piano.

  • He has such a pure falsetto and so smoothly transfers. His breathing technique is amazing. This man exudes music. He is very concerned about educating our young about the classics. It is cool to be able to rap, but having a well-rounded education in music just makes you a better performer.

  • Damn, even the minimal information you give is wrong..

  • msailers - you are exactly right and that's the ONLY way I, as a deaf/hard of hearing person can get past "singing" and enjoy the music I do. Most singers I can't understand the lyrics and so here, I've loved what I hear of Bobby McFerrin because he is not singing "words" proper, but just expressing the emotion of the song through his voice. It helps my hearing is in the low frequencies so I tend to listen to male vocalists more then female, or female with lower voices (like Diana Krall etc.)

  • la musica hecha hombre!

  • this is not bach. this song is by thelonius monk. and its called round midnight.

bobby mcferrin is still a genius

  • Some refer to the human voice exalted in song as "The Sacred Harp".

  • AWESOME.

  • This is called "Round Midnight" isn't it?

  • bach ¬¬

you need to read more pingonacho ¬¬

  • I actually cried.

  • What's pretentious is that this is not Bach at all. It's 'Round Midnight. Get a clue.

  • The Master Songbird!

  • what a pretentious title to this vid..... we all get that bobby makes his voice like an instrument. But I don't see him playing any instrument. It's called singing and he's brilliant at it. Don't take that away from him by calling it "playing". I play 13 or more instruments and can't sing at all..... this man can SING... fuck playing.

  • He moves his hands as if he's playing an instrument, something he does with other songs and "implied" instruments as well. It seems clear "playing" in the title is thus meant tongue-in-cheek. Have a nap and un-bunch your panties.

  • k, I had a nap and unbunched your sisters panties, and I still think it's a pretentious title and not tongue in cheek. sorry.

  • I would agree with you in some small part, but there is one problem: Singing is joyous, but the fact he "plays" while he sings is somewhat transcendental. I treat the voice like the instrument, but i am still learning it. I have learned the trumpet for whats going on 15 years and it very much feels like i am playing a part of myself. When it gets right down to it, I would much rather feel like I was playing my voice than just singing. its just more fun.

Its all about reaching that next plain

  • the voice IS an instrument by definition.

  • @msailors Every musician is an instrument. A piano or a guitar is just a machine

  • @msailors Bobby certainly helps me remember that!

  • What was this from? and did I just spot Whitney houston in the crowd?

  • i hope you change idea asshole

  • "round midnight"

  • Amazing!Living Legend!God bless you!

  • thelonious monk

  • Miles, baby

  • this is not bach. this is "round midnight".
