when i hear this, i visualize the dragon being held high by george the animal steele both riding the cart from the ring...the dragon's arms stretched up, hands holding the newly won intercontinental belt to the darkening silver roof of the sliverdome...and the 93,000 roaring in admiration....the pinnacle of the dragon's great career in the wwf...
at a house show in auguista ,ga he didnt hav e this theme as he came through the crowd with his dragon and torch on fire in the other hand and it was in the mid 80s to 90s then
And here are your starting lineup for the CHICAGO BULLS. At CENTER Luc Longley. At FORWARD Dennis Rodman. Also at FORWARD Scottie Pippen. At GUARD Steve Kerr. And at the other GUARD position Michael Jordan.
to all those who call it jordan's theme, please have a bit of respect and call it "Sirius" by the alan moore project, and the song was done in the early 80's......before jordan was even in bball
This is why I love the internet, I was just playing WWE All Stars when Ricky Steamboat came out. They have the more modern theme for him in the game. I couldn't remember exactly how his old theme went, but I knew it was a famous song. TOO YOUTUBE! Sure enough, not only did I find it, but I find in the comments what the name of the song is. Thanks guys. WWE probably lost the rights to it long ago, hence the newer theme.
Actually its "Sirius" from Allan Parsons Project's "Eye in the sky" (1982) album played in a loop. Technically, it is the theme song played when the Chicago Bulls are introduced and not the Chicago Bulls' theme song (because they do not own it).
Randy Savage The Day has finally come the minutes, the seconds, we have reached our moment, as you an i climb into the ring we clash like two titans, but there will only be one winner....one winner Savage, this Dragon is breathing
Fire this Dragon will Scorch your back I will come away with the Championship Belt and see NEW HORIZONS!!!!
I was introduced to Ricky Steamboat when he returned to the WWF in 1991 as The Dragon. He had a different theme, wore the costume that you see here and "blew" fire on top of the ringposts. I saw him at a house show where he defeated Smash of Demolition. WWF Mag had him him in a feud with Haku, but I never saw it on TV. He's also in the 1991 WWF playing card set, and in the Classic WWF Series 3 trading card set, he is indeed billed as Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.
@djslash571 He has that theme because when he debuted in WWE as a legend that was the theme they used. Only difference is a flute. But yeah I don't understand why they didin't use this one .w.
@pornpan96isGay Jake Roberts was an innovator in the business and had a cool gimmick for his time, but his overall working ability sucks compared to Steamboat. Roberts is a washed up, beat down, addict now.
@JFreeman1123 Sadly, no he isn't. After that health scare that put him in the hospital recently, he's never going to be able to wrestle again. One report I heard said he can't even lift over 5 pounds now.
This dude was my number one hero in the 80s. That match with Randy Savage is still THE best match ever. He will always be the Intercontinental Champ to me.
@baboracus it's by a rock band of the 1970's called The Allen Parson's Project. Name of the song is Sirius. You probably have heard it at sporting events and it also used to be used in the Sirius Satellite radio commercials when they first came out.
@prodevil20 Seen him wrestle last year against Y2J and at RAW and he can still leap of the top rope, still hit the big moves, and when hes in the ring i forget his age and enjoy the match. I'm not saying he should return I'm just saying he's in phenomenal shape.
@romans52345 what?! he is not dead! he is damn well alive. i believe he actually works backstage. he was one of the men who stopped drew mcintyre when he attacked hardy just last week on smackdown
@SandManR95 Ricky The Dragon Steamboat was using this in the mid 80's! The Bulls used it in the 90's.... They couldn't find their own theme? They had to use the Dragon's? What's up with that?
Dragon can still go too. Saw him at Mania and the night after on Raw... He is still awesome as ever... His skills held together much better than Flair's did.
YOU STILL GOT IT! clap clap clap clap clap YOU STILL GOT IT! clap clap clap clap clap YOU STILL GOT IT! clap clap clap clap clapY OU STILL GOT IT! clap clap clap clap clap
lol. That is the most ridiculous picture of Steamboat, ever. Great wrestler but why did WWE give him a gimmick of such great buffoonery? I guess that's why he went back to NWA/WCW.
wwe did him wrong after he came back in the 90's... the man had been NWA World Heavyweight Champion yet when he came back to WWE he was just a mid card wrestler.... how tragic!
Its embarassing to see the pic of him dressed as a Dragon. He was a great wrestler that was misused in the 1991 WWF. He could have fueded with Bret Hart, Bulldog, Perfect and others for the IC or World Title. Hate how Vince screwed this talented guy.
Ray Clay: AAAAAAAAAAAANNNND NOW!!!.......THE STARTING LINE-UPS.....for YOOOUUR WORLD CHAMPION...CHICAGO BUUUUULLLLSS!!! At forward from Clemson, 6'10" HORAAAACE GRANT!...The 6'7" forward from Central Arkansas..SCOTTIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUH PIPPEN!! The man, in the middle, from San Francisco, 7'1" Bill CARTWRIGHT!!! The 6'2" guard from Iowa, B.J. ARMSTRONG! And from North...Carolina AT GUARD 6'6" MICHAEL JORDAN!!!!!!!!!!
LOL....You're one of the FEW who actually remember THAT! I watch AWA clips on here and remember how much damn fun wrestling was back when I was a kid!!!
no. he didn't use this one as "the dragon" during the early 90's. this is the one he used during the 80's and at wrestlemania 3 when he beat savage for the IC belt.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. This theme is awesome but I like the 2nd theme more. I think they both fit their respective gimmicks well. Whichever theme or gimmick he had, Steamboat will always be one of my top favorite wrestlers.
Was this the same theme Steamboat used during his 1991 wwf "dragon gimmick" run? The only footage I've seen of this gimmick since then was the edited version on the SummerSlam 91 dvd.
I grew up watching Ricky Steamboat. He is just as much an inspiration today as he was then. He is one of the immortals in my view. Long live the Dragon. Bravo.

steamboat put on an unbelievable performance at mania 25,one of the bright spots in a shitty mania, him and jericho for the last two or three minutes really proved that steamboat still had it.i am not a steamboat mark, but i marked out like a lil kid when he wrestled jericho.
I grew up watching Ricky Steamboat. I doubt his Martial Arts prowessis true to form, but he was very entertaining nonetheless. He's very inspiring even to this day.
ricky "the dragon" steamboat is a true wrestling legend. he has wrestled in some many classic matches. which is why he is now inducted to the 2009 wwe hall of fame.
I "siriusly" enjoyed this longer version. ;)

While it was his theme at Mania IV I strongly doubt it's the WWF which created it.
I remind listening to this instrumental thingy elsewhere a few years ago and it has been used an awful lot of times too.

steamboat put on an unbelievable performance at mania 25,one of the bright spots in a shitty mania, him and jericho for the last two or three minutes really proved that steamboat still had it.i am not a steamboat mark, but i marked out like a lil kid when he wrestled jericho.
