  • great ViD however i can't really say i was deprived

this video i can relate to very much but the first time i fought shredder i was in his face

and he made me pay for it with my life!

i had only Michaelangelo left and it was game-over years later i still enjoy playing it and now i own it on the

i also own it now on the Virtual Console on the Nintendo Wii

i am able to complete this game without dying under 30mins i plan on uploading the full version very soon now that i'm able...

  • yea the game itself was hard... shredder was easy...

  • Tester: "Hey, I think you need to beef up the programming for shredder. There's this one spot you can stand on and he can't hit you or anything, and he keeps jumping to where you can just keep hitting him"

Programmer: "Don't worry about it, the game's so hard no one's ever gonna get that far anyway!"

  • How Do You Go On That OMG

  • noob lol

  • I miss this game, i never passed it all cuz i was like 5 and didnt know what to do or read instructions. But I did pass alot of levels I remember that.

  • yeah, the technodrome was harder than shredder... the game was very easy with donatello, to fight the giant mouser all you had to do is point his staff upwards and attack standing between him..

  • Well at least you made it all the way. I could only make it about half way no thanks to an impossible jump found on the PC version. I am still so pissed because to this day.

  • omg you awaited death:o. Omg tell me you didn't :o. You are way to serious for moi :<

  • This testimony sounds a lot like mine! Didn't beat this one till I was a high school senior. I'd been trying since 2nd grade it seemed. I wish I was smart enough to have pOwned Shredder like that right off the bat, but I just stocked up on oodles of "scrolls" and unleashed my barrage of a thousands deaths upon his noogin'. And yeah, I'm glad Splinter mutated back for the sequels! :-D

  • damn man! I've been wanting to finish this fucking game since I was like 6 years old when it first came out. I never got past the third level cept once but never got far. Just for that?! Stupid ass first game! I'll still try to beat it though, it's been long overdue! lol

  • Yes shredder is a total noob :D

  • i have this game on nintendo but japanese

  • I completed this on teh Commodore 64 using a really bad joystick all the way. At least your shredder looks like shredder, the C64 had a green guy with bright red feet and bright red hands with what looked like a tomato for a head, i kid you not. Then if you killed him, the game crashed........

  • lol..oh gosh..that was tight

  • lmao, Shredder sucked so bad. You could also pin him in the corner and throw like 6 ninja stars at him and he'd die. He wouldn't even fight back, he'd just sit there stunned! Noob shredder!

  • that has got to be the n00biest final boss ever

  • freakin' awesome. You are truly a god among men my friend. Well done.

  • ROFLMFAO!!! All that hard work and training just 4 a overly simplestic final boss battle! XD.

  • recuerdo ese juego, solia juagrlo y era chido, pero era un pequeño

  • do you even realize how much i love you? i tried to play this when i was like 6, failed miserably, and never played again. You, sir, are my idol. Or ma'm.

  • lol i remember playing this, the one witht he turtlevan was my favorite part =D

i really got dissapointed when i got to shredder, so one time i decide to check out how much damage would his attack do...

and kos me in 1 hit i think, it reverts you back into a normal turtle XD

  • i used to love this game when i was 12.

  • Classic!! I remember feeling the same way. I hated the part when you had to swim and those damn electric beams were like magnets with my terrible swimming. Hilarious video...

  • I remember playing that when I was a kid. I could only get to the water level most of the time. I would sometimes get past where you could drive the van but raaaarely. Wow, that sucks that it had such a crappy ending and that damn game was hard!

  • I remember being so upset that you couldn't play with a partner. I did spend months on this game. Played it over and over again. Worth it!

  • XD laughed so hard at 1:36. Awesome Vid!

  • Dude I feel your pain. Farthest I got was the level after the car. Nobody I knew EVER beat the game...years later I find this on youtube and I feel anger for such a weak fucking ending but relief because I spent so much time and wouldve spent much more if the nintendo hadn't blown up one day lol. If nothing else feel proud your in a small company of people who have beaten this game

  • This brings back memories. First game I ever played.

  • I reckon old games like these are much much more harder than the games we have now :(. This game was crazy, I never got up to Shredder, close though :(

  • sweet

  • Cool! I never saw Shredder, died before.

  • I remember getting this game but always wanting it to be like the 4 player bad boy game in the arcade .

  • yay poke shredder in the ankles with a stick

  • i never got past the water stage with the bombs..too tough

  • hahaha it llooks like the hulk is on speed...or crack hehehe

  • u make this game look easy and cool.....

  • this game was a pet of my master yoshi

  • I remember this game.. I got it on a floppy disk when you still had to typ in Boot Drive A, in DOS to play games, I was like 8... and yes, I beat it multiple times O.o

  • Finally, after nearly 20 years i get to the see ending because of your dedication.

  • I could get as far as the yellow room inside the Technodrome, right before Shredder. I'm 11 though so I'm too N00bish for some reason to manage to get past all the freaking purple robots or whatever those things are. I suck at these games anyways XD

  • If you're only 11, but can get that close to the end, I'd say you are very good.

There's a bit of a cheap trick to that last part. At the last part, where the pathway is narrow, if you just duck when those purple guys appear, they'll fly backwards and disappear.

  • Thanks dude! There were a few times when I tried beating that game that I really had to knuckle down and play hard, ESPECIALLY in the parts with the caves. For some reason, I don't know why, my game glitches up right at the entrance to the Technodrome fight. It ends up taking me to this weird room with rock formations, I can get out, but I can't get to the Technodrome fight. Has that ever happened to you or is it just my cartridge?

And thanks again for the advice, I'll use it when I play it.

  • There are three or so locations where the technodrome may appear- it's random every time you play. It's not a glitch, the technodrome just happened to appear in a different location on that play through

  • He... I also thought of a Fast Forward series game but if so, it should be more CGI animated or sth. of the kind.

  • i had this game and it was hard as hell to beat. i never beat it.

  • wow i never finished that game as a kid cause the levels were getting crazy and i see they don't get any easier but to have shredder as easy to beat as the first wherehouse boss? what a let down

  • that game is boring nothing compares to turltes in time the backround music was made with guitar pro???

  • i agre whit u that game was the best tmnt game of all

  • O man! Dude, wth! I own this game, and never played half the sutff I just saw you play, damn man, talk about dedicated

But yea, I didin't even finish the game and I even feel deprived, what the hell, what a wack ending to such an under-rated game

  • wat a rip off all the others wer hard but not shreder i had the game but my NES adapter broke and i couldn't get past the water part in level 2 my cuzin only could get to level 2 intill I was 7 and we couldent get farther im 10 now and my cuzin is 13

  • ROFL!

  • talvez si intentas ganar sin trabarlo sea un poco mas dificil, aunque respeto que hayas llegado al final

  • I beated that game anytime I wanted it,but that was some years after I got it,haha!I always used the same way in water:I left a bomb on the right and I go up and continue until the end. When I arrived at the end,I let Raphael die with the explosion. Then it's easy to desactivate the bomb that remained. You can easily turn back to life Raphael in the next stage. After that,I couldn't let another turtle die and I nedded to get,for each turtle, the weapon that seemed a kamehame

  • Good job... I could NEVER get that far...

Shredder is a damn noob, that was easy! *laughs*

  • great remix it looks like a translation to snes.but it were never happend instead turtles 4 appears.

i wich that all nes games were translated to the snes would be kick but ennyway the the musics kicks!!!!!!!!

  • awesome video man. That game did get rediculously hard towards the end

  • LOL!!! that is hilarious

  • i couldnt never beat this game, so hard

  • The fight with Shredder is a big contrast to the rest of the game. I do have patience, gamewise, but after ALMOST making it to Shredder and getting killed, I really wanted to curse at the tv. I wonder if I will EVER get through it all.

  • That's awesome dude. Haven't played if in like.... Well, lots of years. 'Til I got a psp anyways. (Why I never emulated it on a computer? I'll never know)

  • Where'd you find the remixed game music from?

And yeah, I remember this game, and slaughtering it after a while. You really need to know the strategies to many of the levels (two fully charged Turtles for the dam, GET THE SCROLLS IN LEVEL THREE, don't need to go into all buildings, scrolls decimate the 'drome, the trick in the yellow lvl 6 corridor).

  • The music files were actually midi files that I recorded to wav format, then compressed when I added it to my video.

  • It was Fate, not skill, which deprived me of the awesomeness that was the Fight with Shredder. On the NES I almost made it to the big Mouser (without tools), but when I tried an Emulator years later the thing froze when I was about to fight the Technodrome! Maybe it would work now, but I've lost most of my interest lol

  • nice, thanks - but try beating him as raphael or michaelangelo! Did better than me though

  • Actually, you should count your blessings, because if Shredder did manage to get a hit on you, it would subtract your health by about half! Then of course, there's his life-transformer gun which is instant death.

  • Ahh the memories, the hardest part for me was figuring out how to use that damn rope.

  • i beat this on an emulator yesterday :P

  • SICK DUDE

  • Man, I have at least tried 20 TIMES to beat this game. Most of the time I can make it to the Technodrome, one time I came SO CLOSE in the room right before Shredder, and got whupped by those purple flying soldiers. Man, I was ticked at that game afterwords. And I wasn't exaggarating when I said 20 tries to beat it. I'm sure it's about that amount from when I started playing up until now!

  • I remember playing the game a lot just to fool around, because I knew I couldn't beat it, I think I was about 6 or 7 when I had this game. I had no idea what the heck to do in the river level...XD

  • i remember playing this a lot when was like 5 or 6 and never got passed the underwater level.I just recently got and am at the 4th level, not as tough as the old but still hard.

  • Am I the only one who didn't think this game was that hard?

  • They turned Shredder into a freaking noob for the first Ninja Turtles game!?, that is just absolutely lame as anything, and very shitty, all of that just to fight a noob Shredder!!

I'm so glad I never got past the 2nd level!

  • wats a noob?

  • It's an insult commonly used by gamers that refers to a newcomer or someone who just doesn't know how to play.

  • oh,thanks

  • Good video, I remember this game when I was 14 years old and finish it, I already had broken as two controls until my mom became angry and did not want to buy me another, I had to fix it by myself

  • i played this game when i was like 5 but couldnt beat the dam level but i downloaded the rom a while ago and beat it without too much of a problem

  • dat game was hard very hard

  • yay

  • I never beat the game but spent so many hours trying. Sooooo frustrating. Good thing I never beat it. If I seen that at the end I might have put my controller through my TV

  • nothing today is or was harding than a Nintendo game, many days crying because i couldn't beat any games, especially this one

  • I remember this game. I used to have it. This game was so much fun back in the day.I was 7 years old when this game came out.

  • That game was like impossible to beat man! I tried for like years!

  • i would have never guessed a noob??

  • LOOOOL CHECK THE AI OF 1989! WOA

  • Shredder is a freakin nooooooooob!!!!

  • he is a noob o nooo i never made it that far man that game was hard i think tmnt 4 tit was the best one or maby th arcade one was hmm

  • i played that game for sooooo long an diz iz wut u figth at the end bulll!!!! took me like a year 2 get passed that water level...fuck i wasted a huge portion of ma life an i still havent beaten it

  • Now I feel like I was touched by god himself...I got this game in 1989 when I was 4 years old...I'm holding it in my hands right now in this moment after watching this and cry tears of desperation...I played this game hours, months, years...I never got through it...and I'm fucking 22 years old by now...

  • I broke 2 NES controllers playing this game. That water stage was just so freaking hard!!!!

  • LOL!!! I never reached Shredder!! I remain stucked in that hideous yellow room in the technodrome!!! Could you post the full ending please?

  • Hahahaha! I've played the whole game through! It took years, however. But I don't remember Shredder that easy. Must be a glitch.

  • I remember playing that with my little brother a loooong time ago. MS-DOS was the thing back then, :D

  • Good times...

  • it was worth buying the genie just to defeat those boys !

  • i spent a year of my life on this - you need the genie to complete it ! then you just gotta watch the fire jump at the aiport! if you dont have the genie- the game is impossible - the level just b4 shredder with those lazer shooting guys kills you everytime

  • The game is not impossible! Just really incredibly hard!!! This footage was recorded while using an emulator, which allows save states, but I have beaten the game on my original NES. Those laser guys at the end are really hard, but there's a bit of a cheap trick to beat them. I'll admit though, had I not been able to practice the last level by reloading on my emulator, I would never have gotten good enough to beat the game without cheating.

  • iwould always die in the water trying to get rid of those bombs

  • that game was hard a hell ive never flip it over ***

  • I agree, this game really was the most challenging I've ever played.

  • This game and Castlevania 3: Drac's curse are too hard to enjoy because of their extreme difficulty.

  • Oh yeah, Castlevania 3 was practically impossible. I got soo far, but then I got to a level where I couldn't survive for more than 15 seconds- it was so frustrating. They made Trevor's movements too realistic. He can't change the direction of his jump when he's in the air, and he can't jump 4 times his own height. It's as if he's actually bounded by the laws of physics... What the heck kinda video game is that?

  • I never got past the 2nd sewer. Everyone in the world got stuck on the water level.

  • thank god i wasn't the only one who couldn't pass the water level, i have to yet to finish that game, this shit is evil

  • you had to make one jump that was a near impossibility. In the sewers, on the green tiles. Repetition, repetition, repetition.

  • You could just walk over it.

  • hardest game ever made.

  • I haven't played this game in years. All I remember was how difficult it was getting to Shredder...and then once you got to him it basically took nothing to beat him. Oh well...at least TMNT II: The Arcade Game was a little more rewarding compared to this one.

  • Hehe, having really easy bosses at the end of hard games is actually a bit of a Konami tradition (Ultra Games and Palcom were basically Konami subsidiaries). Play to the end of any Gradius game and you'll find that the last boss will either use the simplest bullet pattern you've ever seen, or simply wait to be killed. :)

  • i got to that yellow room right before Shredder, 3 or 4 times, never got past it...

  • There's a cheap trick to get past the last part of that room. If you run forward attacking, you're almost sure to die- but if you duck whenever an enemy appears, and wait for a second or two, he'll float backwards and go right off the screen- then you can just go forward again and repeat.

  • I hated how simple Shredder was :(

  • I've always had nagging feeling of regert becuase i never beat this game....untill now.

  • lol, That's too funny.

  • Hey i agree on what your saying. i beat this game myself too.i thought i was going to lose against shredder cause i had one bar left with.but basically i beat him. why is that because he was freakin easy basically you could just beat it with donatello.and damn that ending was straight horrible i still have that game and my nes. WTF.

  • The reason the ending isn't that good is because back then, people beat games for the sake of saying they beat them, not to look at the ending.

  • Yeah, the ending "animation" was pretty dumb, but my point was not about that- it was that the game was so incredibly hard, but the final boss was so incredibly easy. The difficulty of beating shredder was so diametrically opposed to the rest of the game, it was laughable.

  • Yeah, we were kids, and as a kid...they made that game impossible for a kid to beat. You had to get older, or even do gave saves on emulators just to get thru the shit, and this is def. one of the hardest/longest games ever made...yet Shredder is def. a NOOB..haha! When I beat him..I had the boomerangs, did the same thing you did and he was done. You talking about MAD?!?!? omg...I was heated, and to make matter's worst...they made up a fake ending.

  • April: "You saved Splinter by defeating Shredder" [no, we got spliter back like 4 levels ago]

Splinter: "Im proud of you turtles, I can now turn into human form *changes before your eyes*" [WTF? he never did that, its not even possible, and why?]

April: "Lets celebrrate with Pizza" [bitch I had ever pizza in NY tryna find this nigga, you think NOW is the time for another pizza???]

  • Haha..I hated that ending, but aye...what can you do huh? At least you can say you beat one of the hardest games around.
