They believed that every 5125 years(if i remember correctly) the current world would end so that a new one can begin. They predicted this occuring for this world on precisely 12,21,2012.However, they believed this to be the 7th and final destruction, meaning there will be no recreation.

Everybody here is missing the LARGEST POINT. On 2012 earth will reach its 26,000 year cycle. About 26,000 years ago is also when the last ice age occurred. The sun also reaches its maximum 11-year solar cycle on 2012...not to mention the galactic alignment. The facts and science are all there. A place where people who could be strangers unite and find comfort from each other. Assuming you're from the United States, that's kinda why we're here. They wanted Freedom of Religion along with other freedoms. So religion already caused a great country to form where many people go to to avoid pain and suffering.

I went from being so avoidant of religion, to being fanatical about religion. Your beliefs are set by how you interprit data. I compare my interrpritation to other interpritations. Religion, basically, is like taking what you've learned and applying it to your life. Just like every other subject.

Everybody here is missing the LARGEST POINT. On 2012 earth will reach its 26,000 year cycle. About 26,000 years ago is also when the last ice age occurred. The sun also reaches its maximum 11-year solar cycle on 2012...not to mention the galactic alignment. The facts and science are all there. The only person in history who told us that the end WILL come, but NO ONE knows the time except God Himself, was Jesus Christ. And it's all written in detail in Revelation in the bible.
