I think the song can be interpreted either way (about a girl or God), but the way Jason was looking up toward the sky you can tell Who the song was really about. I know Lifehouse doesn't want to exclude any of their fans (believers and non-believers) so they wrote the song in a way that can be interpreted any way you want to. Just my opinion. I love the passion he puts into performing this song!

Wow truly amazing! Thank you Jason Wade! Every time I watch a Lifehouse video, there is always something about them being a christian band and not. In an interview Jason said that he is a christian, but the band is not, because if they said that they were, people would put up these walls and not give their music a chance. In my opinion, some of there songs are about God, some are not.

People will never be able to set a proper example of how a Christian should act. Only Christ is the perfect example...we are called to follow Him, not people. We are all sinners through and through. We mean well, but we are fallible...only God is infallible. I do have to say that this song has some pretty deep meanings. I used to be a Christian but a lot of people were so hypocritical I am more agnostic and open to other views. Jason actually once said in an interview he doesn't like telling what his songs are about because he wants people to interpret them for themselves. That it's about god is your view, he never said that he writes about God, though I don't doubt that his faith is of some influence on his music. I myself don't believe in God but I love his music because it speaks to me in another way then religious.

Being an atheist I'd hate to admit it but this song is spewing about religion and faith. Though in a way (as most art) can be interpreted differently. For me since I have no belief in god (let us be civil) I see this song as anything that I love or how I feel when in love. It's really up to you and what you want to take from this song.
