I have helped waterproof headphones and control boxes of detectors with GOOP sealant/adhesive----you can wet your finger and touch it to push it down or whatever--but don't try it without wetting finger--that stuff is very sticky!
....@micmoable Hmmmm.... never thought about wetting the finger first. I guess having to pick if off of my fingers and hands for hours afterwards might not be necessary! Thanks for the tip...
@aquachigger I helped alittle with building underwater detectors--and if you'll just place fingers in mouth or simply wet fingers first, then you can pat the GOOP and it won't stick for a few seconds--just don't keep handling Goop without re-wetting the fingers or it will begin to get sticky again---but for a few seconds at a time it works after wetting fingers with saliva or water
Thanks Beau. I tried the plastic baggy method too. It leaked several times, so I would not advise it though the vacuum type bag might be worth a try. I've got to believe Garrett could make a waterproof version of the Propointer and sell a ton of them.
Love it. Going to do it. When I have done it - my Pro Pointer - will then be "highly modified" - as I have already done a mod to the switch. Well done - thanks for sharing. Cheers GL & HH
