  • Top song. Deserved better success.

  • Thanks for posting. Wow! I haven't heard this since I was about 6.

  • Age has nothing to do with knowledge ... do you know the alphabet ?...it was developed hundreds of years ago ... can you count ?? Buy books .. you know those things made out of paper with writing in them ... use what intellect you have and learn .. don't bullshit about facts without research ... all you are doing is misleading other people with fantasy ...

  • "Who Could be .... " NEVER charted, was never a Radio hit and is certainly NOT a classic. Was in Melbourne 69 / 70 and never heard it played on UZ or XY two top stations then ... get your facts staight when you identify a Classic ..... My big toe knows more about the last 60 years of commercial music than dummies who classify "unknowns" as "Classics". ... your personal opinion does not make a classic ... go back to banging your head against a brick wall ... may knock some sense into you ...

  • @DJDiablo6x3 :Hey mate!Says on your profile that you are 52 yrs old. Thus in 69 you were 11 yrs old,in primary school. How much commercial music were you listening to?

  • @DJDiablo6x3 :Your comments make me think that you were more of a 3AK or a 3DB listener!!!

  • A bit of good old aussie bubblegum music.

  • Love this stuff! Is there anywhere I can download it as an mp3??? Would love to have it in my collection. Keep the golden oldies coming..................

  • Drummer Peter Reed currently playing with 60's cover band The Substitutes around Melbourne

  • Wait 'til the end of the clip and see the first broadcast appearance of Labor nob Graham Richardson!

  • This is a really good song. I'm usually not into this kinda stuff but its not too poppy and its not over produced.

  • WOW! I went ape shit for this song when I was a kid. The only other song that really pressed my buttons other than this was Isn't It Time by the incomparable The Babys.

I went straight to Brashs and bought the 45. Aaaah, memories. appreciated!

  • Was anyone writing anything serious in Australia in 1970?

  • Yes, check out Mike Rudd's band Spectrum , Taman Shud , Tully (a Sydney band), Bakery, McKenzie Theory, Sebastian Hardie, Healing Force.

  • @glenlyons98

    Wow, good answer!

  • Great Band, terrific people, but there best song was Who Could Be Loving You, which I'm still waiting to get back Wally (aka) Alex

  • @wnmoody1 You are spot on - Who Could Be Loving You was one of the greatest Aussie "Big Ballads" of its time. A true classic!

    I have the EP somewhere

  • Written by a Queensland boy named Mike Chapman. Went on to score big with Sweet, Suzi Quatro, The Knack, Blondie etc etc.

  • never ever thought i'd see this song on You Tube , had this on one of those compilation albums ,from about a hundred years ago

  • I have the 45. Great song, great memory. Thank you for sharing.

  • Alex and Jenny are still happily married on the Gold Coast. John Du Bois joined Country Radio, then the Dingoes and I think is now in the USA. Roger Treble died recently

  • Fpr those looking for this on CD, I am pleased to announce that it will be featured on Volume 2 of On The Prowl- Australian Pop Of The 70's to be released with their companion CD's Move Baby Move - Australian Pop Of The 60's Vol 2 and Live It Up- Australian Pop of The 80's Vol2. These Double CD's are scheduled to be released on January 26th - which of course is Australia Day through Sony-BMG

  • Thanks for the info frankscan, I will be looking out for these. Do you remember a song called "It's the greatest song in the land" by an aussie female singer in the late 60's?

If so do you know where it is available?

  • I thought The New Dream were great. They were originally called The Dream (I think) and were formed in Melbourne in 1969. Wonder what they're all doing now?

  • These guys played at our school dance in 1970.I was in love with the woman on the Vox Continental. Her mane was Jenny Johnson and she married the one of the lead singers, Alex Kaddel. Years later (mid eighties) Peter Reed taught me drums and told me all this stuff. Never thought I'd be airing my knowledge all these years later. LOL

  • Great bubbe gum sound as well as great camera work on the clip. Outstanding production and sound for almost 39 years ago. Suberbly talented drummer, too. Oh yes, and what man wouldn't have eyes for Jenny? Wow!

  • Thanks, used to really love this one! Shame on me not knowing they were aussies.

  • Thankyou so much for this song, i'd been looking for this for years, sweet memories of my second girlfriend, i thought she was perfect.

  • Wasnt the keyboard player married to the lead singer, Alex?

  • I have this on a comilation album from 1971.
