I'm a terrible father for admitting this but...my ten year old daughter has already beaten Resident Evil 5, Saints Row 3, Halo Reach, and a lot of other "mature" (and "kiddy") games. She has tried her hardest but she can't beat any of the Mario Galaxy or Zelda games. Nintendo games aren't like most games this gen. They don't push you to the ending. To beat a Nintendo game, you're gonna need some gaming skill.

I would classify video games the same way as Japanese anime. You cannot judge them by the way they look and sound because at first glance they seem to be kid friendly ,but the more you watch the more you see that they have a deeper and darker psychological undertones that would completely go over the heads of kids.
If difficultly = measure if a game is kiddy or not than every game on the nes (except bugs bunny birthday blow equivalency in difficulty ) than all of them are not meant for kids, regardless that the developers who made them claim they are for kids and its advertised as for kids.

But don't really need to play it to know if its good or bad seen enough gameplay to know if it is, and saw lets plays from the begining of the game to the end did not like the story, did not like the gameplay. No, it doesn't go the other way. A hard game isn't made for kids, but an easy game isn't always made for kids just because it's easy. I was just saying, if a developer is going to make a game for kids, then with kids in mind, they will make it easy. If I was going to make a game for kids, I wouldn't make it extremely hard.

@Shokio hes about 15 now and the autism i would say is mid level. he goes to a special school and all that. his case was worse when he was younger but has gotten better through the years
supermario galaxy 2 wasn't that hard. wanna play a hard game? Play Uncharted 3 on Crushing. THAT takes skill. 3 bullets and you're dead. It doesn't tell you when to counter attacks so you have to see them coming by looking at their movements. and looking for treasures can be tricky. Super mario galaxy is just jump jump run run run, there was one hard level and the rest was a piece of cake.
My son started playing ps3 at the age of 5 he is 11 now and beat almost ever ps3 game thats out.Same with the 360 in that matter but he cant do at on the Wii i have Zelda and MG1-2 ect.

Shokio when I was 5 years old I beat the legend of Zelda. Thats a very ignorant thing to say that kids can't beat games like that. I mean theres an 8 year old in Japan who owns 30 year olds in street fighter 4. Difficulty has nothing to do with a game being childish. No little kid would really understand or care fully what the heck is going on in Sunshine or Galaxy 1, but when they look beyond the kiddy look, they would realise it's a tad more serious. SS is definately much much harder than OoT, WW and TP. I can't say it's harder than MM, but not too far behind. A kid, with the advanced controls, will take a long time to get good at it. Actually, OoT took me 2 months to finish when I was a kid (it was my second game I played). But yeah, it definately was not kid-friendly sort of game.

@DiveBombRebel Megaman was not Kiddy in their conception. Capcom started to make it kiddy since Megaman 6, and even more in Megaman 7-8, so they can diferenciate Megaman from MegamanX. You can actually see the diference in dificulty from Megaman 1 to 6 being the first 3 very difficult and the last one for NES very easy
@DiveBombRebel yes and no. Games are kiddy if the developer made the game to apeal ONLY to kids, like Baby-sitting Mama. But as a general rule a very dificult game is not meant to be played by kids. And, just because a game is rated E doesn't mean is made for kids too.

The above mentioned games were alright; don't even take on Zelda it got ten out of ten world wide, the only FAIL reviewers were gamespot, even game informer gave it 10 out of 10.

I would classify video games the same way as Japanese anime. You cannot judge them by the way they look and sound because at first glance they seem to be kid friendly ,but the more you watch the more you see that they have a deeper and darker psychological undertones that would completely go over the heads of kids.

supermario galaxy 2 wasn't that hard. wanna play a hard game? Play Uncharted 3 on Crushing. THAT takes skill. 3 bullets and you're dead. It doesn't tell you when to counter attacks so you have to see them coming by looking at their movements. and looking for treasures can be tricky. Super mario galaxy is just jump jump run run run, there was one hard level and the rest was a piece of cake.

I mean theres an 8 year old in Japan who owns 30 year olds in street fighter 4. Difficulty has nothing to do with a game being childish. No little kid would really understand or care fully what the heck is going on in Sunshine or Galaxy 1, but when they look beyond the kiddy look, they would realise it's a tad more serious. Yes, it's mostly shallow, but it's something. Not Dora!

SS is definately much much harder than OoT, WW and TP. I can't say it's harder than MM, but not too far behind. A kid, with the advanced controls, will take a long time to get good at it. Actually, OoT took me 2 months to finish when I was a kid (it was my second game I played). But yeah, it definately was not kid-friendly sort of game.

Every video I have watched of your whether or not I agree with them makes sense so I don't see why so many people are getting angry about. I'm for one happy to hear something intellectual that is backed by facts even if it goes against something I like because it makes me think about it. Can the typical kid beat Megaman 9? Absolutely not. Yes, there are some kids that just have a natural talent for video games, but if I were to go to the store right now, pick out some random kid, and make him sit down and play Megaman 9, chances are he'd get utterly destroyed.

@PS3sucks4life Well, kids that were growing up in the NES era could, considering that was how the game was developed to be beaten. According to that logic, kids can't beat Sonic 1 & 2 without saving (I Did) and kids can't beat any game that doesn't have a password system.

@DiveBombRebel Megaman was not Kiddy in their conception. Capcom started to make it kiddy since Megaman 6, and even more in Megaman 7-8, so they can diferenciate Megaman from MegamanX. You can actually see the diference in dificulty from Megaman 1 to 6 being the first 3 very difficult and the last one for NES very easy

@DiveBombRebel yes and no. Games are kiddy if the developer made the game to apeal ONLY to kids, like Baby-sitting Mama. But as a general rule a very dificult game is not meant to be played by kids. And, just because a game is rated E doesn't mean is made for kids too.

a game is kiddy if only kids can enjoy it. if adults can enjoy it too, even if it looks kiddy, it's kid friendly, not kiddy. there is a difference.

The Water temple wasn´t a Challenge it was a PAIN IN THE ASS! I went about 120 times in the Menu to change the shoes of link. it was annoying not more for me.
Playing nintendogames for me was like a masochistic way of gaming that doesn´t make fun for me. I want to play and get a experience not a "I beat this game"-feeling .
