My sim card in my 1st generation iphone says 3G on it. The sim works fine in the phone. Had a couple provisioning problems with at&t when I first put the sim in. It is now all corrected on their end. Do you think it would be wise to try this procedure with this particular sim card in the phone? I just got a new phone and wanted to unlock and jailbreak this one to sell. Perhaps I should buy a new sim card for the 1st generation iphone to avoid any complications? or just try it w/ the 1 i have??

Put it into DFU mode and press shift restore browse for the 2.2.1 firmware restore it then jaibreak it after ur done keep u iphone like that till i make another video on how to jailbreak the last offical realese it better than the beta's (duh :p)

when i downloaded the new firmware it's downloaded as a WinRar file with Winrar icon not with ipsw icon which i used to see before ....and when i try to open this winrar file there is nothing inside it........can u help to figure this out.....

You need to activate again after install of 3.0 :( if you cant do it officially your screwed will have ablocked phone until jailbreak comes through

I updated my iphone 3g from 2.2.1 to 3.0 using itunes. and then I just jailbraked it true Quik pwn. it worked just fine, exept that i colden't use the phone to enything. it u have these cind of problem, put it in dfu-mode an then downgrade. x out the error and start up quikpwn. do as told;)

But do u know a way to make the mms work on the old iphone edge?

this works with the 3g but if you do this you will loose your unlock and you will update your baseband forever and it will be impossible to unlock your sim card till the dev team get another unlock so dont do this if you want of keep your sim unlock

once you download the firmware and install it to ur iphone you will get locked then you have to jailbreak.
