I respect Dian Fossey's efforts to protecting the Gorillas in Rwanda. It shocked me to learn of her murder and saddened me to learn that she stated in her will that she would like her assets and all proceeds from the movie "Gorillas in the Mist" to go towards protecting these creatures, was challenged by her mother. She won, and received the money. Shameful.

Unfortunately it's up to the Rawandan government and to be honest - they dont care less. Animals are in the war of their war and trade and because a lot of Africans prefer bush meat (monkeys etc) over cows or chickens - it's such an uphill battle. I think it's disgusting too - but they think about murdering a gorilla as much as we think about stepping on a spider. So sad - but so many of the governments throughout Africa are so corrupt.
