nice tank! can you give me an advice, since i am beginner for having my 50 gal saltwater tank, what are the fishes u can recommend to me to keep in my tank?? i like to have tang fishes but i guess they are difficult to keep and to feed as well.
i think the moray eel will kill more than the shrimp if not raised properly this guy probably feeds his eel through special feeding tubes and its food is probably dead therefor eel would not be as aggresive
@blackgoku10 there is no mantis shrimp there thats a blue spiny lobster. Nothing would be alive in that tank including the eel if a mantis shrimp was around. (assuming its a decent sized one.)
thats awesome, kept freshwater fish for 8 years just starting my first marine tank, got my salt sorted just need some living rock. Check out my 450litre freshwater aquarium video
the tank is awesome, although i would prefer a more friendlier fish and smaller ones so that it will look like a big sea for them..seems like the tank is a little small for fishes that may grow really big or for fish that swims alot. that is just me.
want a really dangerous tank, add some mantis shrimp, titan triggerfish, and some stone fish(extremely venemous)then you got trouble. btw nice eel, moray?
Nice set up! Wow. Careful of that lionfish. Mine got me twice while cleaning (well, I actually hit it, he didn't do anything). That hurts. Like a yellow-jacket sting, but lasts and lasts.
That's a big boy tank for sure!! I will guess somewhere around 300 gallons, just from eyeing it. I loved the guy snoring in the background...good times!!! I like to snore too and my saltwater tank puts me to sleep everytime! Good luck!
it amazes me that the eel hasnt eaten your lobster, and arent all species of lobster extremely terratorial and move rocks like hell ? ? ? ps. thats some extreme snoring in the backround dude
Yeah you can keep eels with corals and anemones, just make sure that the corals are stuck at the rocks so the eels don't knock the corals down. The fish in the tank have to be 2 times bigger then hes mouth.
WOW VERY NICE LOBSTER! what species is that! nice addition! please check out my video responses of my shark tank. i think a eel and a lobster would also make a great addition to my tank. i will keep that in mind =D
Wow you put a lot of time and effort into your tanks, and look at how your rewarded. That eel is an awesome animal and those lion fish are going to be incredible. I have a shark and its fun to hand feed him, try it out with your eel, just be careful just by looking at him id say hes got a powerful bite. Feeding sticks are cool too and if u train the moray to accept food off the stick it will lessen the chance of him attacking a fish. Awesome animals and good luck with your tanks.
I have a barred morey, not that big yet, but very cool. He decided to move down to the sump, but he will actually come out of the water to take food, coming out about 3 inches or so and just hovering.
Hi, its tiny pieces of stone coral 0.5cm-2cm. The most local fishstores have it in bags ;) In my other tanks lays live sand in on the bottom, and im happy with it :)
Yeah wow, those things are gnarly! Really powerful claws. Sweet tank by the way. I've got a 55 gallon with a dwarf octopus. Thinking about getting a snowflake eel next.
Ahh yes, thanks... did some research and they aren't worth it. Don't live long in captivity and will get eaten. Plus mostly just hang out curled up on the side of your tanks.
No the moray is not aggressive, the only aggressive fish ar the green undulatus triggerfish and the zebra soma xanthurum (yellowtail tang)Soon im gonna post a new and better video of my tank.
two questions
that looks like a Lionfish in there
is that ok to keep with the other fish you have?
also which reef custodians are ok to have with an eel?

Do you have a website with specs on your aquarium? I'm just curious about the set-up because I don't see overflows in the corners or anything . . .
When I had a lionfish in with my other fish, they were so boisterous that he wouldn't eat.
