Jeff Is my Fav. I've been playing lead guitar for many years and Beck is the Best-You will never hear anyone Play notes like him-he's a master of the tremolo and volume-his note bending is unreal-the best way to learn-"Cause we've ended now as lovers" is to listen to Sereeta sing the original version written by Stevie Wonder-Beck is that good-it is so frustrating to try and learn Beck by listening to Beck.-
@fkurselfinthassutube Ummm...you could count this in half time as 4/4 but that would be stupid...especially counting 12/8 in double time at the same time. 6/8 is the easiest way to count it and write it out...feel free to do whatever you want. I'd love to see you charts the way you prefer to subdivide it. (rolling eyes)
This is also nowhere near a bossa nova. Not even in the same universe. A bossa nova is strictly in 4/4 and is marked by a very particular bass pattern. "Girl from Ipanema" is the most famous bossa.
this song makes me cry, laugh,dance,dream,float,think,snizz,sleep..... this song is like going to heaven or i dont know where but to a very peacefull place. this is real music listen to it justin bieber, lady gaga, and some others.
Jeff once said that the most important notes on the guitar are the ones that you DON'T play, not the ones you do play. When you hear all these guys like Steve Vai, Malmsteen etc, who are obsessed with being the fastest, this is when you realize that none of those guys will EVER match Jeff Beck's true genius. Jeff Beck is King, and all others are mere wannabees
@jlg1956 maybe you should listen to Lotus Feet or Hand on Heart by Steve Vai and Brothers or Save Our Love by Malmsteen. All of the three guitarists are amazing and comparing them doesn't make sense at all. Music isn't competition dude.
many players sound like clapton, page,SVR and even hendrix.nobody sounds like jeff beck. you can tell it's him after just a few notes.anybody else have a
beef with having 2 of the best tracks only on the japanese version of this cd? those being "poor boy" and "cry me a river".could it be because the japanese have supported him throughout his entire career? just asking
I heard this song on some Jazz radio station...it usually takes a very unique jazz song to strike my interest to go search for the song, and this was IT!! I has such a smooth sensational pull to it that draws you into another place that just focuses on delicate music...it's just...so soothing...Love it.
Best intstrumental ive heard for a long time and with subtle yet powerful performances from Tal,Vinnie and Jason......Jeff just knows how to hit the right spot
he proves that getting better doesn't mean to run faster scales and shredd all over like a maniac, what most young guitar players think, what it really means is to synthesize your vocabulary to the most efective and powerful tonal qualities.
hey but that's why there are millions of "guitar players" and just ONE Jeff Beck.
@CosmicRuna That's typically what I thought...what it's about is the tonality...the beauty behind the music. Not practicing scales. Thanks for the piece of information it really put things into perspective for me.
just another reason why Jeff Beck is the best guitarist in the western world these songs are just a couple of the examples of the genious of his work.... I too am a pationate guitarist but hope some day to be in the same galixy as Jeff is... will see
Let's hope this great music will head guitar player toward more evolute guitar sounds rather than the usual noisy metal neanderthalian primitive sounds!
wow, even tho ive been playing guitar for years and now teach i can say that this being the first time i have listened to jeff beck makes me feel that ive missed out on some real soulful guitar.
As a new listener to JB - can anyone tell me what other albums/songs from earlier on in his career would be good to listen to?
@gweetarshredder Absolute must have is Jeff Beck Performing this week... (live at Ronnie Scotts). Also another great album is You had it coming. The contributions of Imogen Heap to both are astounding.
@gweetarshredder ALL OF THEM, he is ever changing, plays rock, blues, rockabilly
jazz, techno, opera, classical!! "You Had it Coming" "Guitar Shop" Wired" Who Else"
"Jeff" "Rough and Ready" "Beckology" " Frankies' House"( he won what is egual to
Grammy in England) on DVD Live at Ronnie Scotts, sweet!! anyway... the man is a genius, and very very nice, spent time with him a few times though his invitation, love the man!!
sweet man, yeh ive been listening to him- he's got a vast array of styles that makes it sound so much better- thanks for the suggestions man i'll keep checkin it out
mmm well i had heard of him, pretty hard not to, since he was always written as a guitar legend! But I'd never actually taken the time to sit back and appreciate the awesome style of music and beautiful tone he creates with his guitar. But yeh mate, thanks for the suggestion hahaha i will continue to keep checkin out this stuff- is really good =]

@mikemorrison281 Let your ignorance flow my friend ... bossa nova ... a 4/4 beat over a 12/8 harmony/melody ... check the count
