  • this is "ON" or About George Harrison...

  • notice... there's a careful avoidance about saying anything positive about George.

  • just wondering how the post got the title r ford playing with g harrison....is this person delusional?

...where's george harrison?.........people are out of their f....n minds!

  • This guy has taught me more about guitar than anyone else. I've been to two of his Master Classes in Ojai CA, and been a student at an NGW session where he gave a class, but I learned from him from one simple question I asked, which was where did he think his unique phrasing came from. His response was that he "just tries to play the scale that runs through the chord." That's so brilliant, and so difficult to do, but it's stupid hard to remember the different notes as you're bopping along.

  • @JohnnyBuff - Another key to Robben Ford is that saxophone was his primary instrument. His guitar phrasing mimics sax runs, much as Duane Allman goes for a tone, and sometimes diatonic quality, in his slide playing that emulates harmonica.

  • I heard Robben on the Joni Mitchell tour in about 1974 and have been a big fan ever since.

  • Lucky man!
