That's what Greek airforce's pilots which use both m2000-5 and f16 b52+ say. I 'd add that MICA IR is the only IfraRed BVR missile in the world (fully passive, and said lethal).
Sorry ,but french airforce's mirages 2000-5 are better: greater turn rate in mid and high altitude, greater ECM, greater radar(Thales's RDY), and greater missiles (highly manoeuverable an ECM resistant MICA IR and EM). AMRAAMs may have greater range but smaller NEZ(no escape zone). F-16 mlu's engine may have better thrust than SNECMA M53 P2, that balance with the m2000-5 superior agility
I am a former F-16 Crew Chief. So I am in love with this jet. I'm not going to say you're wrong or right about your opinion. But I will say this. Do some research on its successor... F-35 Lightning II. Had I still been in, I would have been maintaining this jet in the future.
well, on top of everything that we normally have to do to get a jet crew ready... In the winter time... if your jet's not parked in a haz, i can think of at least 10 things on that jet we need to remove snow and ice from. and, during ice conditions, it takes one extra person to perform a launch. keeping OPSEC in mind, i can't tell you any more details, but i think i've gotten my point across
I've seen ( and heard ) this upclose here in the Netherlands at Twente AFB...best day in my life ( cause we also went to have some fun the their simulator )
I know it is so simple to just look at the f16 but life in side the cockpit is not very easy or simple at all! due it takes 10 years to become a regular mission-combat pilot
who ever filmed this cut a lot out. it's not like a car where you can just turn the key, put it in drive, and go. there are a series of checks that the crew chief and pilot must do. other factors play a part in it also, but i cannot tell you them.
from what i can remember, Block 40's have Pratt & Whitney Engines. Block 50's have General Electric Engines. The biggest noticeable difference is the turkey feathers. Pratt's have flat turkey feathers. GE's have more rounded ones.
Well, the 40s have a different HUD and the 50s have that IFF antenas on top of the nose. The 40s and 50s use GE engines, the 42 and 52 use the PW engines. I dont know if the CCIP upgrade for the 40s gives them those antenas.
hey im a crewchief on blk 25's at luke, and i have the answer about the block 40 and 50s they both have GE's the only base that uses P and W's are here at luke for training purposes, everywhere else all 16's use GE's
lmao i'm not talkng about the 63rd, it's all the planes at luke, i'm not sure about the ones with the singapore jets, those are crazy loud. i like those they're all from the 90's
I'm sorry, what's that initial mellody is called?

From the right angle, it looks like the bird's smiling at you. It must love its job.

That was Eielson. Tail said AK on it. Besides, not too many other bases have haz's like that. I wish Shaw had'em, period.

Spangdahlem has 'em. :D

Spangdahlem has Block 50's. The one you see in this video is a Block 40.
crewch101 3 years ago
I was a backshop Hydraulics specialist with the 52CRS when I was in Spang; never got to see much of the HASs.
Is there a visible difference between the 40s and 50s?
