@trentcreek Firestone Auto Centers now have the contract for those batteries, and they still honor it!

i had one of these in my 69 merc with a 390 and a/c..it lasted almost 8 years

They got rid of automotive in the mid 80s I believe. A very good choice.

HA! this commercial came out the year I was born!

JCPenney used to be like Sears in that they used to sell stereos, had an auto shop, whatever.

$45 in 1974? That seems awfully expensive since car batteries are like $50 - $70 now in 2009.

I wonder why JCPenney doesn't sell one of these anymore, let alone have an actual auto center...
