  • I loved this show as a kid. I used to run around the house with a housecoat as my cape. Brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting this. :)

  • Wow! This really brought back some memories. I was about 4 when this came out, so I only watched it by luck when it was on TV. Still remember the music quite clearly. Now that I know how sanitized this and all other anime usually is when it is televised I go for the original. Does anyone know if the DVDs on Netflix are uncensored?

  • This show really rocked! It still does!

  • I remember watching this on the Super Cartoon Sunrise show on channel 32 in Chicago. Memories!

  • Always have to watch out for those alien galaxies from beyond space! :)

  • 1:10 FAN SERVICE PANTY SHOT AHOY

  • yeah the ship was cool....but cmon they were pretty shit werent they????

  • wait a minute wasnt this G-FORCE???

  • @xtian63 Gotchaman or something but yeah an Americanized version of old school anime.

  • I used to love this, and was it just me who fancied Princess? It was the obscenely short dress that did it.

  • Gotta watch out for those alien galaxies from beyond space!

  • @B5RobMan

    To protect Earth's galaxy.

  • Casey Kasem voiced the leader of the team

  • i miss it sit at old tv love the dog

  • On google if you type the phrase " gotchman god phoenix " you can find the the fiery phoenix online to buy.

  • Aah, the simpler days of localisation :)

I did laugh at the fact that the little dude in this is some kinda testube weirdo that can't speak properly, unlike the witty smack talking baddass in the original :)

And the voice overs declaring, 'Don't worry, they've just been knocked out and will be okay in a few hours.' ahahaha. Better times.

  • Ever seen one of those annoying kids running around pretending their hand was a jet or rocket or something? That was me with this cartoon... so lame, lol, it was AWESOME during it's time

  • 0:33 R2-D2 ? wtf ??

  • @DoUrden458 douurden, the cartoon known as G-force was actually a translated anime from japan. The r2-d2 character was added to the american version to make the cartoon more kid freindly and to add comic relief. The japanese version doesnt have the 7-zark-7 robot.

  • @blackshogun77 just like most japanese 80's cartoons they had to tone it down. lame. if you have the dvd of this show watch the japanese version of the episode.that shits hardcore. the updated gatchaman episodes were on hulu.hail to the galactor lol

  • One of the most violent cartoons of the 80's also one of the best.

  • if u didn't like G Force something was wrong with u it was the show

  • I certainly remember this

  • The ratings always go throw the roof at 1:12 hahaha

  • Check out the fanservice panty shot at 1:12

  • That red energy bar @ 1:20 inspired me as a kid, the artwork was amazing throughout, even though i wasn't too into the stories, i was transfixed with the artwork, my only occasional erk was when keeop would speak with that broken english , sometimes i liked it other times it was annoying and corny... still i was just getting to an age where 'cartoons' were old hat, but this was good to view the imagination of its creators.

  • Alien Galaxies beyond space? Are their Alien Galaxies that are not beyond space?

  • Sure, but 7zark7 doesn't warn about attacks from those galaxies.

  • greatest cartoon of all time

  • For whatever reason, I totally loved this show when I was a kid!

  • "alein galaxies from beyond space" wtf? then where are they then. and I saw some star wars rip off the words floating in space and the robot that looks like r2d2 oh well I still think it was awsome

  • If ever anyone deserved an Oscar for voice over work....He should do motivational speeches!

  • anyone???.......where can we download any of these kind of things full episodes/cartoons?

  • i used to watch this is all the time when i was a kid, same with voltes v, thanx dor posting!

  • this show kicked ASS !!!

  • what was the first anime cartoon, as i always thought it was this, that had that anime style of the big eyes etc and the very round heads

  • That was probably Astroboy (1963).

  • oki i guess it would have been as thats a name that i always heard as a kid, G force must have meant alot to alot of people., As the Group Greater than one , names a album called G force

  • as a kid i had a battle of the planets play set taht had guns that fired little disks across the room it was pretty dam cool

  • I had that same set. I even had the lunch box. This was one of my favorite cartoons ever...

  • my brother had the lunch box he would never let me have a swap as i only had a rubbish snoopy box that the flask didnt even fit into !

  • this is so fking StarWars based, like Blackstarr -_-

  • unutautare2 - actually, battle of the planets came out 5 years prior to star wars in Japan. It was released in the US 1 year after star wars.

  • The opening to this show should have been something more dramatic..."Earth: 2030 A.D." would appear on the screen and then melt away as the rear of The Phoenix came into view. The opening music should have been "Play the game tonight" by Kansas...with no fruity narration.

And, of course, all of the original violence and "adult situations" should not have edited out!!

  • dude, with all the negative feedback you need to start your own show...

  • On 0.28, his finger presses down between buttons.

On 0.44, '...alien galaxies, from beyond space...' Huh?

On 1.27, 'invincible' rather decreases any dramatic tension from the coming adventure.

  • maybe he's just getting rid of his chewing gum, sticking it to the console to save for later :p

  • Didn't Sandy Frank die in the Holocaust? Oh, wait, sorry, that was Anne Frank.

  • that is the funnyest thing i have heard all week pat yourself on the back

  • Get that good old Cold War context! :)

Completely agree re. the comments about musical arranging I have to say. Really difficult skill to master...

  • i've only seen sum eps of this..didn't even know the name

  • may the whores who destroyed gatchaman burn in hell!

They owe me money because i was folled and bought this poor-mans version of gatchaman!

  • Let me just say that the theme song to this cartoon is a freakin TESTAMENT to the long lost tender loving care given to musical arrangements of shows from long ago... For reasons such as this, great arrangers and real musicians, that truly understand music are a dying breed and its a damn shame.

  • I agree with what you said about the musical scores of classic shows.

    The music is brilliant.

  • youre bloody correct and i agree as a composer myself i am dying to get music back to the standard it used to be!!

everyones a musician these days !!

yeah right !! ooohh i can clap look !1

  • @mrjazz2u still gives me goose bumps

  • @mrjazz2u You make an important point. I hadn't thought of it until you mentioned it but we have lost something important and unique. These seemingly unimportant theme songs were truly works of art. Wish we could bring it back!
