@wrigleyx It is a Mosquito which was constructed mainly from wood and a tad faster than a spitfire, so fast it did not need guns although some did have nasal guns fitted. A general all round fighter/bomber.
as far as i`m aware there are no airworthy mossies. ( the last flying one crashed near Manchester in 96, a sad day) i believe there's 27 still in exsistance & there's some jolly nice chap in new zealand building one from scratch. if it is built, i do hope they bring it back to its old training ground here in scotland
That's THE best cgi I've ever seen. You know it's good when your mind starts out taking it as real, then realizes it's cgi....but keeps thinking it's real. You know it's good.
By the way, aren't the engines in the Mosquito RR Griffins?
Creator of this CGI moive is Mr.Tochibayashi. His latest CGI work is on Youtube. Search "Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands 2/3 (US Navy vs Japanese Navy)"
TOCHY's Work! Glad to see it still fools ppl. Google Tochy Suppon" to find him, or watch my "PROUD AND GLORIOUS" collaboration with him at my chan. Nothing but the BEST!
@SonOfRDGear A damn shame! All I can think is that it's too hard to keep the wooden structure sound enough to be flight-worthy...although there are other wooden planes still in the air, as far as I know. Maybe just replicas? Someone should make a Mosquito replica. It's one of the very best planes of the war, all around. Mosquito FB Mk VI FTW!
@justforever96 the combat service life of the mosquito was pretty short - the german aircraft structures were very much less robust than the mozzie, notably the glue...
We had 2 in England some years back, one went to America because the owners could not get enough sponsorship here with another flying as well. Sadly the one that remained crashed killing both crew members. I don't know if the one in the US still flies? I think Kermit Weeks had it when it first went there.
An old Flying Fortress pilot told me a Mosquito passed him on the way back to England with most of one engine shot off!
@justforever96 its because its a wooden composite, its too difficult to inspect the condition of 70 year old wood sandwiched together. Even if there is no rot, the glue wasn't designed to last that long. Furthermore it would be very difficult to reconstruct the aircraft the same way it was built (wooden tubs formed over a mold). However I do believe there is at least two restoration project happening.
@deetjay1 The USAAF had about a hundred or so Mossies, doing mainly recce and weather research, but seemingly none that were used close air support or attack. British built, with a British engine, designed by Brits. Awesome. As indeed was the CGI clip that started this trail... well done the author - very convincing, and sadly no flying Mossies (yet) to recreate it for real.
This is fantastic work. The only minor flaw in it is the way that the river in the first scene is a bit flat. If it had a bit of sparkle the video would be pretty much flawless. Well done to the creators!
wow! How did you make this video? Its hard to tell, but near the end i almost looked comuter made, verry good, I would love to know how you did this :D
@dontsqueezethecheese. True if this were real and shot from by a camera with lower frame rates but even still they would capture different engine settings causing the props to turn differently. Still great CG though.
What made me realize this was CG was when I noticed how in the shots where there were multipule aircraft their props were perfectly in sync. Amazing CG!!! I love it!!
@VonAlb Thats got nothing to do with CG and forgive my lack of technical knowledge but it's something to do with the frame rate of the camera used, which makes all the props appear identical. I'm sure someone can explain it better.
Of course it's not real. Take a close look at that aircraft landing in the end. It doesn't disturb the ground in any slightest way at all when it lands...
shit it IS cgi. apologies to the poster! very nice. My Dad flew these in WW2 for the 109 Pathfinder squadron. love these planes, and he had some great storys.
This vid was originally made by a Japanese guy forgot his name but too bad he is not making more of these still. It would be interesting to know which Flt Sim program he used and this was made a few years ago.
Why the hell are you people talking about PC vs Mac when the video is about British WW2 aircraft with British fossil fuel burning engines? You arm chair commandos need to get off your ass and go listen to one of these engines in person.
Well someone obviously knows nothing about computers....it's ok, there are plenty more like you. PC fanboys I mean. You can all go play your games on buggy machines while the rest of us Mac users, who actually know a thing or two about computers, wonder why you don't switch over to the nice, smooth, technically sound and virus-free OSX......Mac FTW
The mac is virus free because most people use PC's. if everyone would switch over to a mac guess where the new viruses will then be build for? so.. be happy there are more PC fanboys then mac'ers. besides that a mac in my eyes is a overpriced peace of ornament that only comes in his right when doing a lot of Graphics or video editing.
Wow.. even though all made by computer, it is still beautiful. Sounds awesome too! The first part looks the most real, at the last part of the Mosquito landing you can see that it's pc-made, but still: VERY NICE!

The 2nd was the "shadow" of the propeller. All the aircraft had the excact same propelle "shadow". As it is, it is manual and it will be imposible for 6 aircrafts to have the excact same tourk and rpm.
