What irritates me is that the NYPD knew Twitter, Google and Facebook made it possible for the organizers to stage a rally in North Africa. I wouldn't be surprised if the U.S. government supported uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt and now we're seeing Libya, Yemen and Syria engage into civil unrest. However, when London was ransacked by looting thugs, these sites were to blame. Identifying gang members is one thing but suppressing communications, blogs, sites and even comments is unwarranted.
