any and all of you that want to rip dead pirates. I have three words for you.. GO FUCK YOURSELVES. A ND if yhou would likme to meet somewhere send your contact info. Short of that go f your self. the pirates own 5 world series rings more than most most clubs. They draw far more peoplr per year than anyone in pgh and the last time they contended was 1997. 2nd place. look it up. smalleest payroll in baseball.
We are family? That's a joke and a half! 2nd worst attendance in the National League, and 27th overall. Oh well, families do have to separate at times. Today's Pirates would have both Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell rolling in their Graves! And would send Chuck Tanner to one.
How are you going to say they're a disgrace? the haven't won it all in 30 years o well look at the cubs buddy. It took the red sox how long to win one. And Willie Stargell was on of the best first basemen ever. Honus Wagner Big and Little poison, they were the best. Sorry budy :*(
You see, that's since a world series win. It would be a miracle to get the Pirate's record above .500. We havnt done it in 16 years (about to be 17!) (longer than I've been alive, just about)
there are a lot of us that were stargell fans.he was along with clemente the heart and soul of the pirates and to say you are glad he is dead makes you an insensitive bastard
Not necessarily. Noone can lose forever. Even the St. Louis Browns, one of the alltime worst clubs in the history of sports, managed to win one pennant. (of course that was during WWII and the ranks were depleted, but that's beside the point)
I'm only 14 and never saw the Pirates having a winning year, but i LOVE the Pirates no matter what happens! It is tough on us, but at the end of the year, we push it all away and say "It's a brand new year". Yesturday was history and it's never coming back. Today is the present, so get the win, then tomorrow is the future and we rememeber yesturday we made history. What I mean, even we are a losing team, we should throw it all away and have a fresh new start.
A real fan stays with his team all the time. No matter whether they suck or they are great. I have never seen them have a winning season and I still love them and root for them like crazy. I guess we know who is a real fan and who isn't.
I drove from Cleveland to Three Rivers many times to see some very bad Pirates teams play in the 1980s but I always enjoyed supporting my team. Even when they trade my fave players I always come back.
Former Pirates Third Base Coach John Russell was named the new Pirates manager. Can he lead the Bucs back to being a powerful team and to the playoffs? Pittsburgh has the most beauiful ballpark in baseball, and wouldn't it be awesome if the Pirates were contenders and almost every game was sold out?

A team that will never win anything because players don't take IOU's.
