I'm from California and I also spent a few incredibly fun months travelling throuh Australia with my ex gf and being really fascinated with accents, I tried in vain to learn an Aussie accent. Having said that, while in Oz, I prompted quite a few Aussies to give me their best American accent and I have to say, they were all truly horrible. :-) Possibly as bad as my Austrailan accent. lol So, you must be somewhat exceptional in that regard. :-) Cheers.

@Nigelxman Oh yeah,. I know some aussies are bad at doing ANY accents, not just American. I have heard trying to imitate American accents and throwing Rs in where there aren't any. They have no idea. There are some however, who are exceptional. I wish I still had the recordings of them. It seems to me that the imitation of a particular accent is not difficult if you focus on it. My daughter now lives in London and has an authentic-sounding accent. Apparently, thats how we sound to Americans.

As you can see that is exactly what lead to his death. True he did all what u mentioned, but he pretty much put a gun to his head in the end. Ignorance is 1 thing I hate more then anything else. A person can donate billions to a charity, but if their really stupid I'll hate their guts.
