'Have to agree with the last few sentiments. Joe's music and singing was more developed as he matured and experimented with musical styles. The lytrics and music really complement one another. Ultimately, he and the Mecaleros were really having 'fun' again... :-R

It sometimes seems that musicians who decide to fly solo are never as good as the band they became famous with. Not so with Joe Strummer. He was always great with The Clash, and man, do I love him with the Mescaleros. They put out some really strong albums together. I'll forever remember Joe Strummer as a decent, sensitive soul.
