What about getting the Sierra Club or other environmental groups involved? They have tons o money. all you have to do is find out what animals live in and use the lagoon, if any of them are threatened or unique to Malibu, boom, closed case for non-development

Who gets to choose the "independent consultant"? Doesn't California law require a environmental study before any development to the lagoon? Does the state pay for that? Hamish you could head them off by getting a independent study done- there has got to be state money available to fund that.

@OgrAdaY it's not anti bikes, the pch racks up a lot of fatalities and serious injuries, because of the nature of the pch, which is the only road in town, so to have malibu declaired bike friendly before it is puts unsuspecting people in danger. i love bikes, but i would no soner ride a bike on the pch than i would play russian rulet. i hope that clairified,
