  • I used SeaFoam but in my area you gotta get up early in the morning and go to the beach where the Foam is thick and the tide is high and its free.

  • Awesome video! We have a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL. Car was idling and missing really bad. With my OBD2 scanner I pulled up a P1491 code. "EGR valve Lift Insufficient Detected". Mechanic stated tha it would cost $500.00 or more. Decided to use the Sea Foam as recommended. The car hasn't run this good since we bought it new. Sea Foam works! Now I'm going to use some Marvel Mystery Oil in the crank case oil. Thanks for the video. Take care.

  • Ran it through my brake booster line last night, wasn't that big a job

  • Carguy5111 I hate toyotas too! But American cars are even worst, they depreciate faster and tranny dies at 12/130k! Ford on the other hand is the best for domestic!

  • If I were to try this product for the first time, I would get a Jap Crap Toyota to try it on, too. That way if it didn't work, I could just throw the can and toyota crap away and I wouldn't be out anything. Buy American! Stop supporting foreign economies!!

  • @carguy5511 this guy is a pretty cute ignorant. over half the cars sold by toyota in the usa, are made in the usa, by americans. look where "american" cars are built.. china, mexico, etc.

educate yourself before you say something stupid

  • @nautilus9008 youre supposed to change oil right after you do the seafoam treatment! Did you? Seafoam will moist out your engine if you didnt change oil right after

  • @iseedat Seafoam says just keep an eye on the oil, change if it gets dirty. Most others on forums recommend changing it within 100 miles even though seafoam themselves say it's not required.

  • that shit sucks all it does is make your engine smoke. i used it twice and have seen no differance except that my truck burn oil now. it didnt clean my engine or any thig it just made it worse

  • thats a good thing to do it at night, i prefer night time, less ppl driving and when testing the vehicle on the road you dont have to worry if someone behind you got into an accident. yup good job guys!! A+

  • Stop being mean to iceman, he is has his own car and able to live an almost normal life.

  • Wrong way? Right way? Who cares.... All you gotta do is get the cleaner to where it needs to be use it how you want b/c as long as it's getting to the cylinders, pistons, throttle body and all that, ain't no wrong way unless you figuring on pouring it in your throttle body and following it with a lit match. Now, that would be a wrong way cuz you don't wanna use a match b/c while explosion WILL clean your engine, putting the engine back together is a pain. So, put it where you want...

  • Hey Dude, Does this stuff actually improve anything? It looks like most of the Vids on here are just to show how much smoke they can make, But I haven't found anything oranyone saying it actually improved their engine performance. I'm just wondering if it's worth it. Thanks.

  • @TJB63 Forget these assholes.A buddy of mine gave me a 1983 Kz-750 that had been setting outside under a tarp for 15 years. After cleaning out the tank, and removing the carbs for cleaning,I could not get to all the small holes. Put it all back together with fresh gas and poured some sea foam in and also sprayed into the carbs, ran it,and let it soak in for a day.She runs like a dream now!!! This stuff is amazing and it works!! Try it

  • works great in dot 4 and 5 brake fluid in my Porsche 911s... great video

  • @oddsource are u retarded?!

  • @marek0086 nope just didn't have an intake for my break booster. The fluid is gone and its clean so no worries at all. This shit works.

  • @oddsource dot4/5 is the type of brake fluid!..... are u saying u put this shit into your brake fluid?!

  • can seafoam be used in oil like mopeds/50cc

  • @narcovice

    yes

  • A friend of mine who happens to be a mechanic just told me never to use this shit, he said it's really bad for your motor.

  • Your friend must be a moron... I've used it several engines and only good ever came of it....

  • lol would have been better in the day time

  • ..great...taping in the dark....

  • I don't understand what he is doing, I'm trying to find out what 'Brake boosting' is :s ?

  • lol The brake booster is that big round black thing attached to the firewall on the driver side. There is a hose going to it. Remove that hose and you'll hear suction. Thats where you pour 1/3 of seafoam into

  • The only thing I learned was NOT to take videos at night, doh.

  • wouldn't taking off the brake booster

vaccum line throw up a check engine light?

  • Nope

  • is there any benefit?

  • Better gas mileage and better acceleration (older cars benefit from this stuff than newer ones)

  • ok what if while sucking up the seafoam your car does die...

    what should you do?

  • bury the car

  • you get scared an feel stupid at the same time an try to Sue Sea Foam lol

i'm a first time user an i dont want F up my car

  • start it back up and don't add so much at one time lol

  • can't see anything dick smack.

  • Only an import driver would make an instructional video at night....

  • Lights!

  • where is the break booster? is it some line going to your manifold?

  • no.... its the round (normally black) thing in front of the drivers seat on the opposite of your steering wheel in the engine bay

  • should you change your oil after applying the sea foam?

  • Yes

  • Just another way of getting it into your intake. If you wanted you could just dump it throught the TB.

  • HAHA, good idea making this at night. Plus is called the BRAKE BOOSTER, not break booster. Shoulda not bought those ricers, saved the money and went to college or something...

  • what does this do?

  • It cleans your heads, lifters and upper cylender when done RIGHT and through the brake booster. It can also be added to your gas and oil to clean your whole engine.

  • hmm never heard of the method until last night

  • you did this wrong. very scary to watch.

  • wow, pretty rude huh? doesn't matter your a big tough guy behind your keyboard and mouse.

  • explain to me what break boosting does? You hit your break a little bit right before you race and build up boost or what?

  • lol thats what i did in my hatch

  • @4iceman this is bullshit!.... just use RedLine SI-1!!!!

  • @wlfpacknwo he probably did it so that he didn't piss off ppl down the road...

  • @wlfpacknwo why would you make a video during the day?

  • fucken ppl et least film it when u can see the shit lmao

  • What's next, a video of brain surgery in an unlit cave? My gosh, at least shoot the video in the DAYLIGHT, for pete's sake! :-)

  • also real quickly. a guy came in and he said that he loved it so much hes telling all his friends. it appearently got him a lot better mileage. he said he went up almost 100 miles on his jeep a tank. but he did say he drove it a lot. about half tank a day. stop and go traffic too which makes a difference for build up. but just so you know, if your scared of doing it yourself, have jiffy lube do it, and if they kill the car, we fix it. blame us not you. just my 2 pennies.

  • hey. real quickly everyone. i work at jiffy lube and we do the same exact thing all the time. except the company calls it a f.i.s.c or fuel intake system cleaner. i know... gay. but what we do is put the contents into a canister and it has a gauge and a brass fitting. the fitting has a small glass window where you can see the cleaner get sucked up. theres a screw to easily change the flow into the vehicle. we use the brake booster VACUUM LINE. once done, we blow it out. its 3 minutes at 2000 rpm

  • Just to be safe, just change your oil, its not hard.

  • Lol you barely got any smoke.. check out my video i flooded my block

  • I did it to my truck and it's mpg went from 240 miles per tank to 260 miles to a tank and made it sound throatier when revving. the smoke mostly just the seafoam being burned out of the cylinders. if you pour it in the motor oil drive it for 300 miles then change the oil, then add the correct amount of seafoam to the new oil and change it at the normal time. pouring a full bottle into the gas tank will clean it out pretty good too.

  • why does it smoke after seafoaming the engine???

  • its all the carbon build up in the engine being burned off

  • i meant REDEX by the way :)

  • i will stick with my REDX :)

  • After using seafoam on my wrx, I found out that I had a huge exhaust leak where my turbo is fed exhaust gas. Now I now why my car doesnt make full boost. Thanks SEAFOAM!

  • lmao - the back of the can says DO NOT USE ON TURBOCHARGED ENGINES lol

  • why do you put it in the "brake booster" does that go to the engine? or to the brakes??

    dumbo here

  • You are not a dumbo, just asking an honest question.

The brake booster is ran off of engine vacuum. So that tube is actually sucking into the engine, FROM the brake booster.

    Hope that answered your question

  • people keep saying change your oil after you put it in the crankcase, but the bottle doesnt say anything about changing it??? im confused

  • if you put in the reccomended amount, you don't really have to worry about it, i don't think. If you really wanna clean it out and use more seafoam, the seafoam changes the viscocity (thickness) of the oil so you should change it after 300 miles or so.

  • no, the dirt get's bypassed into the oil

  • titanrain1 thats fucking hilarious muhahahaha LMFAO ROFL haha o fuck man thats some good shit.

  • Seafoam is awesome. I give it to my kids when they have the shits, and my cat when it's hacking up hairballs. I even use it in my car too ;-)

  • hahahahhahaha XD

  • waarrr huuhhh what is it gooood for absolutely noooothing.

  • I too the Seafoam Challenge too, lol. my vid is on here somewhere, hehe=-)

  • whot is this good for?

  • lol, I tried this stuff, and I couldn't see anything for over an hour, due to lack of wind.

  • cant you just pour this stuff in your tank? I know it sounds kinda stupid, but you do that for most of your piston and valve cleaners...

  • 6. Turn off engine, put vacuum line back and wait 30 minutes

    7. Restart motor and kill every mosquito and piss off every neighbor for a 3 mile radius. This thing will smoke so much freight trains will be jealous. But its OK its the carbon burning off. After idling for about 5-10 minutes and most of the smoke is gone take it for a little drive. It will smoke a little more but will eventually stop.

    8. hopefully your neighbors will still talk to you (or maybe hopefully not?)

    9. Carbon is gone.

  • guys, correct way to do it.... I do it all the time

    1. Go to your local parts store.

    2. Buy a can of Seafoam (about $5.00 I think)

    3. Go home.

    4. Pop your hood and pull the vacuum line off the brake booster with the engine running.

    5. Stick vacuum line into can of Seafoam (keep the engine running-you will have to rev it- it will start to smoke and run like crap, but thats ok, JUST KEEP IT RUNNING) until contents of can are gone.

  • I lol'd.

  • i did the same.

  • yea but then u get a tank long shit running car

  • you can pour it in your tank but that cleans a whole different part of the engine. you can clean the fuel system, your crankcase, and your intake with it.

  • the brake booster cleans the intake then, and what else?

  • well basically it clean the intake and like the upper cylinder area and the exhaust a little.

  • Do it EXACTLY as the video showed. Always follow the instructions on the can.

Make sure the car is warm, remove brake booster line, and SLOWLY pour in the SeaFoam. NEVER LET IT DIE. By pouring it in to fast you can HYDROLOCK your engine. That means it WILL be ruined. After you SLOWLY pour 1/3 of the can in, shut off the engine and let it sit 5-10 minutes. Then start it and drive it pretty hard. This allows the SeaFoam to get the upper rings. Thats the ONLY way.

  • OH MY GOD. It's your BRAKE BOOSTER. BRAKE. B-R-A-K-E. I'm sorry, but I had to do that. sadeviant's burn was far too subtle.

Oh, and also: PLIERS. PLI-ERS. Dipshit.

Also also: You're doing it wrong.

  • but i dont wanna break my booster :(

  • Shut up flyjum. You're a dumb ass.

  • brake not break

  • so donig this does what please tell me does it clean the engine or fuck it up?

  • It removes carbon deposits from the engine that build up over time, if you have an older or high-mileage engine, using this should improve throttle response and fuel economy.

  • is the vacumn line called a break booster. I just realised now that what you guys over there call it. at first I thaught it was some sort of device to co-operate with the brakes

  • yeah i was confused about that for a while aswell

  • so you dump it in there as quick as you can till it chokes the motor, then wait 10 minutes and run at at the minimum revs it'll hold at?

  • actually, it was my first time doing it..and what i should have done was suck in teh seafoam SLOWLY....it should take a good 10-15mins. dont rev it....or else you'll burn up the seafoam too quickly.

then let it sit for bout 10-15mins. then WOT or drive it around

  • no, your supposed to dump it down the intake manifold while the vehicle is hot and NOT running, to allow it to seep over the pistons and in the valley walls. then start it up after 10 minutes, while holding the accelerator to the floor while starting.

  • the directions on bottle say to throttle the engine

  • untill smoke did not come out anymore mabie 10 mins

  • How long did you guys rev it for?

  • ur not suppose to rev it. i found this later on. if you rev it, you will burn the seafoam too quickly.

leave ur engin at idle and then suck the seafoam in SLOWLY.... it should take u a good 10mins.

  • First...While using the Brake Vacuum line is the most common way, It's not necessarily the right way. On some car's the brake vacuum line does reach all of the cylinder correctly, There for not cleaning properly. Second..There is no need to over rev the car, It is best to let the car Idle around 1500 RPM's. If adding Seafoam to the gas tank only do so if you have a full tank of gas. Over reving is common for show...(Look how much smoke I can make) But your just burning your money at that point.

  • I should take this video down so many people are saying the directions on the bottle are wrong way.....lol there are so many "know it alls" on youtube

  • lol, So true but hey, I did not say you were doing it wrong... You don't even have to pay attention to me...After all who am I???

I am only a Certified Automotive Technician.

lol "Know it alls" thats funny.
