What some people need to understand is God is the creator of all things. Isaiah 45 verse 7 "I form the light, and CREATE the darkness; I make peace and CREATE evil. I AM JEHOVAH, that doeth all these things". God has created everything, including pain. Without the rain we cannot enjoy the goodness of the sun. So without pain we cannot appreciate God's work to its fullest. God himself through Jesus Christ went through the pain to SHOW us that there is a reason for it to which will benefit us all.

@canman68 God DOES cause pain!! Do u think the nails that pierced the flesh of Christ Jesus tickled?? Do you think it was fun for Jesus being beaten nearly within an inch of His life? NO...the scripture says "He was wounded for our offenses, and bruised (literally broken) for our sins". It also says, "it pleased the Lord to bruise Him." Because with every wound, we were brought back in fellowship to Him by faith in His Son, who was perfect and didn't deserve death but died in our place.

@canman68 the pain is being separated from our unrighteousness because our flesh wants to rebel against the Word because of the sin of Adam. The pain is destroying our pride and any self effort to "get holy" and accepting Christ who is holy, and who will transform us more and more into His likeness. Its not by works that we are made righteous, but ONLY through the blood of Christ. We can't get right with God at all. We need Christ.

You should study the depth and meaning plus reason why PAIN=SUFFERING is the main key to help us GROW...The example is thru out the whole word of God.. they ALL went thru pain that caused them to draw closer to God and therefore making them HOLY.... @LordsChamp8905 Exactly we are like God's muscles. We must grow as we are the Body of Christ. A body builder doesnt gain anything by just simply working out the same routine. They must strain the body to help grow through this we are strengthened. We do need resting periods though. Sooo PAIN shows us we need God.. but pain isnt always physical.. it could be the mental, soul, or spirit realm....translate pain into suffering and the word of God tells us we are killed all the day long (not physically but our fleshly ways are dying and becoming spiritual and that is what causes us to suffer and feel pain.. but it is a GOOD pain to help us grow closer to God, therefore transforming us into HOLINESS!).. I know some people have commented and said that God does not cause pain and that it doesnt make us Holy.. well u truly need to study ur word and look closely to the ways of the Father!.. 1. it tells us that it pleased HIM to bruise Jesus... @ Jesus learned obedience (to holiness) by the things that he SUFFERED... 2. Look at what God allowed to happen to job. took his family, wealth, and health so that Job could prove his obedience and holiness to God. As a result God restored everything back!

What some people need to understand is God is the creator of all things. Isaiah 45 verse 7 "I form the light, and CREATE the darkness; I make peace and CREATE evil. I AM JEHOVAH, that doeth all these things". God has created everything, including pain. Without the rain we cannot enjoy the goodness of the sun. So without pain we cannot appreciate God's work to its fullest. God himself through Jesus Christ went through the pain to SHOW us that there is a reason for it to which will benefit us all.

If you look at Paul (Saul of Tarsus) He was blinded for three days and only than was when he saw. Our pain that WE cause as you said is what leads us to our Knees which is the real Key. @canman68 God can and will use our pain in life to teach us lessons. Much the same as he uses happiness, complacency, anger, hunger, etc. Da Truth says to read Deuteronomy 8. In that chapter God says that he specifically put the Israelites into a "painful" situation just for the sake for testing them and making them "holy". To say that God doesn't teach us with all tools at His disposal is naive.

Now think........three days knowing your are going to kill your son.......That is painful news....You probally think that God isnt just. I would in the time being. @canman68 God doesn't cause pain but He'll allow it. And the Bible does say that pain (trials, hardships, etc.) are for our good, i.e. to make us holy, or in other words more like His Son. Look at Romans 5:4 or the entire book of Job. Da Truth is right on with what he's saying.

@canman68 God is sanctifying us who are in Christ. Sanctification is painful process because of Sin. Paul in his letters called us by inspiration of the Holy Spirit to put to death our bodies (Colossians3:1-10). Peter in his letter called us to suffer a little while (1 Peter 5:5-11). Being a Christian isn't for the faint of heart it is for the warrior of God who solely puts his/her trust in the power of Jesus Christ not in his/her own actions to get free from affliction. We will face pain!

@canman68 So did Job bring the Pain on himself? What actions caused his great affliction? Didn't Job offering true sacrifices as repentance for sins both hidden and in plain view (Job 1:5)? Was it not God pointing out to the enemy that Job was an upright and blameless man and that he truly feared God and had faith in God and turned away from evil? But the pain still came. The pain still came although he was right with God and prayed and praised and presented himself to God.

It is ingrained in us to the point that nonbelievers cry out for God at their darkest, and sometimes not so darkest, hours. We have to train ourselves to need God at all times.
