I love the corvette C6 Z06 - but the best time you can get on street tires with a stock C6 Z06 is about 11.5 seconds ... a faster time is just impossible with the stock 505Hp engine

and a C6 LS3 got 430Hp and the best run of a stock LS3 I saw was 12.4 seconds ... and that´s even faster than the old 425Hp AUDI R8 which is very impressive ... but a stock LS3 will never even come close to the 11 seconds range

Z06:

Car and Driver's website. I tried to paste the link here, but I keep getting an error message when I go to post it. All you need to do is go to their website and search for the LP640. One of the first links that comes up is the comparison test between the LP640, ZR-1, Viper, and SL65 AMG Black Series. Choose the article (not the video) and then open the powertrain chart in the article. It breaks everything down. Search again for the Z06 if you want it's info (rather than the faster ZR-1).

Torque, and weighting less means nothing if u can't get traction. Z06's don't get great traction using the factory run flats & take a skilled driver to put tire spin, throttle control, vs car speed & put it all together. AWD, F1 gear box, a high reving V10, all the traction u can ask for & less room for driver error is 9 times out of 10 the reason for the lambo come up with the win. But, get a skilled driver the right pavement and a Z06 can put up a fight with just about anything...(BUT)

Type in Ranger Z06 1/4 mile, the Z06's only limitation is driver & traction. Solve both problems & u can see those times. Same with ZR1 10.73-10.85 just with traction (tires replacement)

Actually for the faster cars 1/8th mile is actually better because after you get half way down a 1/4 mile track you are actually putting more stress on your car parts. I used to have a Mercedes-Benz S-Class and I had that same mindset that MOST American cars are shitty.. I met a friend who had an 02' C5 Corvette. After I drove it I was amazed at how much value was in a Corvette. And at a fraction of the cost of a Lambo it's a bargain supercar. Ive seen the two in person.. and i was much more impressed with the quality of the ford GT..
