  • i find this hard to masturbate to

  • skip to 0:29 for those who want to see Andy's complete service motion without any pauses

  • Good shot of Andy's serve in slow motion, but poorly edited, in particular the first shot which doesn't even show Andy's throwing motion and pointlessly stops his serving motion without an explanation.

  • I was wondering what grip style he uses.

  • The man's a beast! He had a 139 mph serve at the age of 17...

  • Andy Roddick has the most efficient serve on tour because of his Range,

Sequence, Separation, and Hip Speed. for example Tomas Berdych, who towers over Roddick

at 6'5", does not serve as fast because of the restricted Range in his arm

    and hips.

  • @The4ShOt4 goodwork on copying exact words from another vid lol

  • @redviolin1231 Yes, I´m the same opinion like you ;) Are you a whore?

  • what I noticed was the coaches tell you to toss the ball with your hand straight pointing at the net post but Andy here has his hand parallel to the baseline and then there is a swivel of the wrist to get the ball going forward along with the body leaning forward. This means your body is sideways creating power. I'm extremely annoyed by coaches charging money teaching you something that reduced the potency of your serve.

  • I love how 22 people got fooled that he did a foot fault and his idea on how pros do foot faults when they warm up? The fuck? As long as you make contact with the ball before your feet lands on the court, it won't be a foot fault. If you make contact with the ball when your feet touches the court then yes, that would be a foot fault. Note all pros practice with regulated rules, they won't be stupid enough to do stupid shit like foot faulting during practice -.-

  • @kernelzown look at :30 watch his feet

  • 7 people are umpires.....

  • 7 people are umpires.....

  • Fuck I gotta analyse Roddick's serve for school.... I AM SO HAPPY!!!!! I love ma tennis

  • FOOT FAULT!

  • 0:35 foot fault xD

  • I absolutely love Roddick's service motion. I've tried many different styles, but none give me as much pace and spin as Andy's compact, explosive swing.

  • foot-fault!! :D

  • Foot fault.

  • @Skafiskafnjak Practicing

  • which is roddick's serve stance?? platform or pinpoint?? please somebody answer me, i'm confused about that.

  • @gaudigalves

    He uses a platform stance.

  • @drakulie ok, but I know that platform serve is when feet are separate and pinpoint is when they are together, right?...but i'm pretty sure i have seem roddick serving with his feet very close... now, as we can see in this video his feet are apart , but i could be maybe because this is a practice. i don't know

  • @gaudigalves

when both feet are firmly planted without moving, then it is a platform. When one foot slide/steps forward during the service motion, it is a pin point.

  • @drakulie

no, when both feet are firmly planted and far apart without moving then it is platform; if both feet are firmly planted but close together it is pinpoint. If both feet start of like platform but then moves to pinpoint, then it is hybrid.

  • @joshwesthill

Unless a new definition has been created to make someone look smart, the definition has always been the same:

platform: feet apart and firmly planted. Pinpoint: back foot slides forward close to fron foot.

  • @drakulie what would monfils be then because he doesnt slide his foot up but he starts with them close together

  • @drakulie

dude, you don't get it. there are 3 types of serve stances: platform, feet far apart (federer) ; pinpoint, feet close together (monfils) ; hybrid, starts off platform then changes to pinpoint (nadal, murray, soderling...) Nothing was created to 'make someone look smart', if you don't believe me check out the videos from FYB2007

  • @joshwesthill

there is the pin point and platform. I don't need to watch any FYB videos.

  • @drakulie you know what i realized?? if you look at andy roddick serve at 2003 or 2004, you will see that his feet are very close , actually he moved his front foot backward a litle bit , but if you look at his legs at the last few years( this video for example) you will notice that they are very much separated now. that makes me think that what roddick did was actually "change" his service stance from pinpoint to platform

  • @gaudigalves he's using the platform stance. Andy Rodick has ALL the aspects of hitting a super hard serve. his stance is included.

  • @gaudigalves i thought when your legs are close to start, its pin point, like monfils or roddick. if they are far away its platform, like fed or novak. if it starts far, then moves into a pinpoint, its a hybrid serve, like rafa and murray. at least this is what i thought.

  • @djlpenguin yeah, i think you r right, thanks

  • Beautiful serve =)

  • he's CHUCKING

  • can you stop your wining abou the foot faoult....he was warming up for god's sake

  • certenly foot fault!!

  • @yusakudesu certenly warming up!!!

  • roddick is the poster boy for annoying american

  • good video but foot fault check you

  • foot fault

  • his serve swing at 300 frames per second is still faster than my serve swing in reality

  • @jinnyiskewl I'm sure it is.

  • see the new fastest serve record on my channel

  • Question (only for really experienced players) : Do you think the way Roddick takes back his racket is significant? What I mean is, every player has the same racquet drop when they shoot forward with their legs, but roddick is one of the few who points his racquet up before the racquet drop. does it allow him to make his racquet drop part of a loop motion that accelerates into the ball? Has anyone tried it? I would but I can't play for another month due to a shoulder injury.

  • OH right, u guys were talking about the 2nd serve lol. Yeah, that one was a very bad foot fault.

  • I dont see how his foot touched the line before he jumped over it

  • lol, the frames make it look like the racket's not even hitting the ball.

  • Thanks for upload drak, im trying to use this motion to improve several aspects of my serve.

  • And when you serve, your body and feet can be over the line, as long as your not touching it or anywhere in the court. Nice job though! :)

  • Technically this is a foot fault, because his left foot touches the line before he makes contact with the ball. No part of the body can touch the the line or inside of the court until you make contact with the ball.

  • @mgirardi1

Yup, it is a foot fault. However, he was just beginning his warm-up. Lots of pros do this when they first beging to warm up their serve.

  • @drakulie yeh all pros are really casuall when practicing serves in warm up... theyre just trying to losen up, get the motion going smoothly

  • @drakulie i dont think so because is it not foot fault if he hit the ball while in the air with his feet over the line only if he hits the ball when his foot is on the ground when he makes contact

  • @mgirardi1 hmmm I think that he got his feet of the ground just before touching the line

  • @mgirardi1 yep that is true

  • Comment removed

  • @mgirardi1 don't be smart one

  • @mgirardi1 How is it a foot fault... you are allowed to make contact in court aslong as you are in the air and havent touched the line...

Well hes done none of that so hows it a fault...

  • @mgirardi1 your a fucking idiot... his foot never touch the line dumbass. look closely

  • @woahwoahbitch you look closely.... i think like all 5 of his toes are on the line... make sure you're looking at the serve in the 300 frames per second cause the serve in the beginning he doesn't touch the line

  • @mgirardi1 You really must not play tennis much because you are wrong a foot fault occurs when your foot touches the line and you haven't hit the ball... All of Roddick's serves are like this...

  • @Blade303 Didn't he say that?

  • @mgirardi1 Who are you? Shino?

  • great video break downnn... :)

  • shaunjd1

this is not a foot fault at all, your allowed to be over the live as much as you want when you jump during a serve, as long as you dont touch the ground or drag your foot into the base line which is the most common foot fault, i play alot of tennis and i do this all the time

  • Is this a foot fault as from what im told and read

A fault called when a player steps on to or over the baseline while serving, before actually striking the ball.

from what i can see his feet are over the base line before contact is made with the tennis ball... probably to the naked eye of the linesmen it looks fine.

correct me if im wrong =)

  • ooo, nice pronation

  • Federer thinks Roddick's serve is the best in mens tennis. Imagine Federer with a Roddick serve :)

  • @qzpmwxonqzpm lol yup but still no match for Novak

  • @stefo912 You mean Federer is no match for Novak?!? Really? :) Roger is still 13-10 vs. Novak and don't forget he is 30 already.

  • @stefo912 14-10 to federer against novak :P

  • awesome video:)))

  • nice quality

  • That serve bailed him out today against Nadal.

LOL at Drakulie about his wisdom teeth. Don't joke Nadtards will use that as an excuse :)

  • @Anaconda43VR

Muahaha. Yeah, his serve was huge today.

  • Well. We all know that Nadal was 100% in the first set and 3-4. But suddenly got injured for a few games. Then got injured again in 2 service games in the 3rd.

  • @Anaconda43VR

    injury is part of game

  • yea i was being sarcastic to the Nadtards who think Nadal loses every game because he is injured.

  • @Anaconda43VR

Nadal is a fine player and it is more than possible that he suffers minor stuff during matches, just as pretty much any other pro. The fact that his game is physically damageing and excessivly demanding. Spectacular, no doubt and it is certainly the only thing that can get the best of Federer when it counts the most, but you cannot play this way and apply so much torsion to your joints and yet expect to avoid injuries.

Nadal is the cause for Nadal's health condition.
