Why does China secretly have to buy gold , after all, it's just a commodity--isn't it.? Who's keeping track and why? No currency in the world is backed by gold except maybe Ireland. Heck, I would buy gold and stay away from fiat currencies. Sounds like they are being smarter than those selling gold.

May I ask why? As long as the note is still functional, and the intent is not to obscure its value, there is nothing illegal about marking a bill. This is done for other reasons such as to track the location of money, or to verify its legitimacy in the case of larger denominations. I can't see anything wrong with this.

Yes, sir. I am aware of this code, and it is what I was referring to in my first post. As the intent is not to make the bill unfit for issuance, I do not believe it is against any law. As a side note, notice that the code refers to bills such as these as "evidence of debt." This is not a voucher of worth, it is a token denoting a debt to be payed, and that debt is ours. This makes it all that more important to show others what the system we have really is: debt and slavery.

I understand how you feel; It's a shame that people aren't waking up to the fact that this country is headed to be a 3rd world country if Ron Paul isn't elected.
