Schools in other nations are set on a voucher system, which has been a republican ideal for a long time. And yes do some research America lags behind any nation with a voucher system.

Oh as for health care why is it that all these "Socialist" Nations are trying to get away from government ran health care?

Voucher system is a way to privatize the school system, If you have money to make up the difference between the voucher and the tuition not problem, but if you don't tough luck you just have to go to the public school that had been de-funded. so Republicans want to turn he country to a third-world country like Mexico, with the wealthy protected behind walls and private schools and security and everyone else scrambling to get by with no safety net.

Do you know what a voucher system is? HAHA obviously not or you would not have made such an ignorant statement. Every student in the US gets 10,000 a year for education, the voucher system would just let your kids choose where to use this money! You don't pay anything out of pocket!

What if the school you want to send you kid cost more than 10,000$ a year to attend? what if it is 18,000$ a year to attend and your bright kid cant go there because you can afford the 8,000 a year extra? The school that will take your voucher is not what you want and your kid is just a profit center and all spending on them is considered a loss? what do you do?

Those are called private schools.... Seriously do you know anything about the voucher system.

The voucher system works with public schools only! The children can choose which public school they want then they can go there. What makes this different from our purely government controlled schools is it throws the free market in there along with less government. This way if a school is good at math, science, you name it, kids with these talents go there.

What happens to the schools that are not so good at math? are they closed? or privatized? once the "good" schools are full what happens. If you cant drive your child every day the 20 miles to the good school what do you do? Vouchers builds a two tier system/ the public school suck because they are starved for money by republicans who think its great to spend money on war. not on kids.

Yes you cannot use a state funded voucher to go to a religious school. The good thing about making the schools competitive like this is when they are full or if they see that a lot of interest in their school is in another area they will build a school there. Schools that are not up to standards are closed, yes. But why keep a school open that does not teach the students?

American school systems have been steadily dropping over the years compared to other nations, while funding is up...

Who is they? Local school boards, they don't have the money to pay for enough good teachers let alone building new schools? look at the level of funding for school in these other countries, are their teachers and principals paid more? You know to attract better people into teaching.

What is the solution for failing schools. sell them off to private Co. who are looking to make money on the contract. Vouchers are a cover to privatize the school system.

Local School Boards would have more money to build more schools and get better teachers if they had more people attend their schools! The pay would be competitive, the teachers will get a pay increase because they are good teachers! Voucher school teachers get payed alot more than other teachers!
