There are witty references to jazz pianists & classical composers of which u r also prob unaware. It doesn't 'wander around', it's highly structured - in fact a fantasy exactly as it claims! Your eg says it all @ 1.15 two SW tunes obviously superimposed, @ 1.25 a neat key change via Bbm to get back to Cantina in F. Too smart for your limited understanding to handle!

There were doubtless people who said that Rachmaninov's variations on Paganini's theme were 'too lush, all the magic of the original gone' but the beauty of it is, we can have both, do you see?! People that like this (& it's a genius transcription brilliantly played in a perfectly acceptable tempo for my money) have two great versions, for you just the one sublime recapitulation of the original!

Duke Ellington defined jazz as 'music for the torture of imbeciles'. Same goes for anything that requires any attention span or harmonically ventures outside the vanilla pap that constitutes all x factor/lloyd webber/justin bieber etc Because it's beyond people's understanding they 'dislike' it and write fatuous comments such as 'you ruined the tune' So this sort of brilliance always attracts negatives. Fantastic arrangement - and amazing for classicals to capture the Tatum stride thing so well!

@kionay I always say, "Yes, I'll play that, when you provide a set of drums, guitars, a vocalist and pay me my standard rate for playing trash, which is £100/hour." This deters most people. I think this is a problem that all pianists face at some point in their life, people tend to spiral inwards towards what they know and listen to, rather than want to explore the music it's mostly based on. Speaking of exploration of music... I do need this score! Two pianos stuff is fun. Why can't we have? :(
