The ZR1 beats the R8 round the Nurburgring and the Top Gear track, which means it's faster and handles better. It's got personality. It's fun. It's not clinical and passionless like the Audi. It's also less expensive. There is nothing that could possibly make the R8 better! Therefore, ZR1 WINS! U S A! U S A!

@sugarisgoodness yes, the ZR1 will beat R8 if the road is straight, but when you are racing you gotta turn too or you're going to a wall or gonna hit something.... R8 is more efficient, the engine is made by Lamborghini... it is a lot safer... and it is made in GERMANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now you can buy a ZR1 if you are still interested...

@87armin Did you even read what I said armin? The ZR1 BEATS HE R8 AROUND THE NURBURGRING AND THE TOP GEAR TRACK. Both of which have TURNS. It makes no difference wether or not it is made in Germany, it is still WORSE. Wether or not it is safer or more efficient is debatable but if you posses 100 grand to buy these supercars I don't think you'd care about either.

Take 2 seconds off of the ZR1's lap time (as it is a damp lap). In the dry, it could've done 1:18.4. That's the Zonda F's lap.

ZR1defeated:

MC12, Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, Enzo, Gallardo LP560-4, 997 GT2, Atom 2 300, GT-R, F430 Scuderia, Murcielago LP640, Carrera GT.

That technically makes it the 7th fastest car with the Zonda F.

Fact: Top Gear's track regulations for a damp run states you take 2 seconds off the original lap time to get a dry lap time.

Fact: A dry lap run for the ZR1 would have resulted from a 1:20.4 (damp) to a 1:18.4 (dry).

Where are you getting your so-called facts from? Power Lap on Wikipedia states that time deductions are:

-2 seconds for HOT, MILDLY MOIST/DAMP lamps.

-4 seconds for WET/MELTED SNOW laps.

-6 seconds for VERY WET.

How the hell do you come up with -2 for "VERY WET?"  Even in GranTurismo 4 for the PS2, a wet lap is 4 seconds slower than a dry one.

Seriously, check your source. In fact, check any source that isn't even Top Gear related as that is damn near a universal track rule.

Use your common sense. Time lost in bad weather is relative to both weather AND track length.

First of all, I'm not a Vette fanboy.

Second of all, Clarkson has said to his guests that a wet lap = -4 seconds.

Third, you obviously didn't look at wiki. Where's your common sense?

Fourth, video game was for humor.

But seriously, this isn't worth arguing over. My core info comes from that track's wiki. If you have Top Gear episodes, Jeremy states it in Season 3, episode 2, a dry lap is 4 seconds faster than a wet one on their track (his guest ran a mildly moist lap).

actually you are right about -4 sec for a wet lap, but they actually said dampish lap at 10:28 and damp is only -2 sec according to Clarkson who probably takes his info from the stig, it is still impressive... still I wouldn't buy one because every review I see of this car has a racing driver driving it and then telling us that it is a handfull to drive and since they are better drivers than 99% of people including me and I just adore the porsche GT3 (i know it's not the fastest but I like it)

I said it was a dampish lap in my initial post.

But unfortunately, after looking further into it, the Stig probably wouldn't have gotten the car to go that much faster because those wet lap regulations are for non-professional drivers and the Stig is clearly a Super Licensed driver.

Take the lap for the NA Lotus Exige which pulled off a mildly moist 1:26.4 (virtually slick tires, too). There's no way Stig would've pulled off a 1:24.4 when the Supercharged Exige did a dry lap run of 1:25.1.
