Great mod, the 8900 is a great radio, shame they didn't use the multicoloured LEDs they use in the 857/897, but when you have that cool blue, why ever would you want to change?! Well done James.

Hello yes the LED's are 3.5V. The Yaesu ft8900 has resistors inline to limit the current to the LED. All the best

Nicely done James. The blue LED modification makes your 8900 very unique. Next time I have mine apart, I think I'll do the same!
