  • Prince sux. What a friggin tool!

  • It seems like everyone always looked to Pam when they forget the choreography... Jamilah at 2:40 forgot about five seconds of movement, saw Pam and got back in the groove. Pam was working out the fist rolls double time at 5:16 and everyone else were moving at normal speed. Count on Pam to make the choreography really pop!

  • I know fluorescent was all the rage, but you can see them from space. Maybe CalTrans made a donation to the show... hehe At least I now have proof that these colors were in style for those who don't believe me because they were born too late. Good episode though. The dancing and music was still great as usual.

  • pantyhose and heels i'm rising to the ocasion

  • Where's Darcel? This is towards the end of this show's success...

  • @OldskolFan - Darcel left SOLID GOLD for most of season 5. She returned to the show on June 29, 1984 in episode 39.

  • @lbCharmed1 - To my recollection, Darcel came back in the summer of 1985 and stayed till 1986. She left in the summer of 1984 along w /Kahea and Arlene Nyu.

  • "Li-Li-Long Comes a Woman!"

  • HOT HOT HOT GIRLS....!!!

  • Crystal Gayle was wrong- this was not Peter Brown's first hit record. That was 7 years before. "Zie Zie" was his worst as far as I'm concerned.

  • gee i wonder why this "Rick Dean" person wants to host THAT show.....solid gold dancers.....anything stand out there..? just wondering...

  • Don't you love seeing these old clothes and I think to myself, "WHAT WERE WE THINKING?"

  • So sad that Peter Brown's "Snap" LP never was released on CD... still got my vinyl copy though!

  • It is so painful to watch Rick Dees trying to groove with the solid gold dancers

  • Another great compilation...sadly ruined by WB's censorship. I have a feeling that it's only going to get worse. Further proof that Warners is run by idiots.

I suppose, however, we can "listen" to the muted songs in our heads...

  • I know. I almost feel guilty that I get to enjoy it the way it aired back in the day . (Notice I said "almost")

But I do feel bad that I have to mute all that great 80's music!!

  • @lbCharmed1 Wasn't this broadcast on public airwaves, doesn't that make it public domain?

  • @jayjames5 Unfortunately, no. Everything about a TV show is copyrighted and owned by various folks. And with music it get more convoluted since each song is owned by a label and if that song was a cover then there's more than one label involved

  • @lbCharmed1

Prince had a major beef with Warner's if there is any payback on the part of Warner's to not play his music or else for fear of lawsuit with Prince again would be why his music is not heard here.

  • @bmayer00 - actually, for a period of about a year and a half (during which this video was uploaded) WMG was muting ALL videos that had any music from their artists or licensees. It wasn't just Prince that got muted.

  • Love the ripped short shorts on the dancers. Must be an illusion since actually the standard dance attire shows more but is not as alluring. What do others think? Thanks for the upload.

  • I'm surprised that you were able to get "Along Comes A Woman" from Chicago, and "Just Another Night" from Mick Jagger, as Chicago was on Warner Brothers at the time, and Mick's song is now released by Atlantic Records, a subsidiary of Warner.

  • Shhhhhh! Actually Chicago was on Full Moon Records and they had agreements with different companies. Maybe Warner only got the movie soundtrack stuff, idk. As for Mick, I don't know why it hasn't been caught but I am not saying nothing!!

  • Of course at the time, Mick was signed to Columbia Records, so that may be why it was okay to show, but I know that "Chicago 17" was on Full Moon/Warner Brothers Records, and even today, they are on Rhino, which is another subsidiary of the dreaded WB...

  • You had to go and say something. The very next post got muted because of that Chicago song and I have now had to re-edit the thing for posting!!

  • Really enjoying these S5 episodes, most of which I missed because I was away at college.

This was a great episode. The dancers got huge screen time; 9 of 10 countdowns, dance-along with Peter Brown, and the 1975 song.

    Thanks so much!

  • Same with me. Many of these I saw for the 1st time this year!

  • Wow, the Top 3 songs all muted (not counting the Solid Gold theme song inserted in the #1 song). That must be a first!

  • I thought the #10 song was gonna get the video muted. For some reason it didn't. Thank goodness for small miracles.

  • Grand une part supérieure complète dix

  • Merci pour ta commentaire!

  • it is really that you are posting the videos of that season, that season rocks and this post too

  • Well this show just ROCKS!! ;-)

  • This season actually was the best...until Lezlie left. Then Darcel came back, Cooley stayed around......then it went from the best to "mmmm.....great, but....."
