ROFL at 2:47 - email is faster than a letter and "more thoughtful than a phonecall" hahaha not anymore!!!! email has become the most annoying and impersonal way of communicating. Ahh the good old days when sending an email was a 'cool' thing to do
awww how i miss these days.. back when in the day when 'online' and the internet were so new, fresh and "innocent". This is from back in the day when microsoft actually gave a shit.
I remember this disc and have been looking for another copy for ages. I had a few when this first came out and thought this promo was fucking genius. It was a hell of a lot of fun (for the time). And I regret to say that there hasn't been anything with this sort of feeling done in ages.
This video totally represents what modern computers and the internet felt like back when they were pretty new and exciting, now adays they are still great but not new and exciting, Kind of like how television was so cool when it was first invented but now is just a regular no big deal thing to have in the house.
WoW! I still got this Cd. I am getting in shape for "Spike's World!" Anybody remember "Spike's World?" Boy I miss those days! But I don't miss dial-up!
I was 6 years old at the time and I remember this. My sister had a copy of this CD and I used to watch this a lot on the computer. It really does bring back memories!
Well those online services kinda died out when the Internet got popular. Most services offered additional media from CD-Roms. For example you had ther German KIT which was based on Bildschirmtext. Lots of people have tried it, but in the end the Internet with it's open structure simply won.
Those old services were walled gardens with very limited content.
Actually in 1996 online services were already dying and typically mostly used to get onto the Internet.
I remember getting this CD in the mail and I always thought that blond girl was cute, it was only years later that I found out that was Anna Ferris and i was like HOLY CRAP
I can remember making the jump from msn classic, with the explorer-like interface to this thing, as it was all multimedia based and slowed my comp right down to a halt.
Funny video, but I just wanted to say you did an excellent job with the narration. Finally someone who can use annotations in a way that isn't really stupid. Good job.
I'm from Australia and I remember getting this in 1997. I had no idea wat it was and why I couldn't connect to it. It was just recently when I looked up something completely different that I noticed that actress was anna faris. I remember thinking that chick was hot when I first saw this and i loved her "too stupied to stop" quote that was mixed in with the music. I love that piece of music. I'm tryna find that cd rom. I remember falling in love with all of the characters.
Hi. Do you still have the original Cd? I'm looking for the music that came with it. I rmember back in the day it was encoded as a wav file on the CD. If you do find it let me know. Thanks
does anyone remember the MSN ad from the 90s that had the guy in the butterfly costume and hes acting like a spam blocker and pulling a lever and dropping people advertising and spamming posing as spam and junk emails into a pit and this last woman in her 50s says "Wanna see my webcam?" does anyone have this ad and if you do could someone please add it on here thanks
lol.... till about half way thru i thought they were talking about msn messenger! funny how 'msn' means messenger to most ppl, even though it's not even MSN any more, it's windows live!!
lol...this was in the heyday of cd-rom 'tours' by extremely annoying sub-celebrities for all sorts of crap on your computer. Anyone remember the cd rom that came with windows 95 called "Windows Starts Here" and it had that annoying nasal sounding lady that told you how to do such exciting things like make a folder for documents lol....old times
I bet 1996 was not the tiome for a proyect like that. This video reminds me the 50's series that said "in the future, robots will atake over the earth" and stuff that never actually happened..
uh? what's that? OH MY GOD! MY MICROWAVE HAS TURNED MAD!! IT'S KILLING ME!! CALL THE COPS!! OH, MY GOD!! THEY'RE ALL 'ROUND US!! THEY'RE ALL 'ROUND US!!
i remember this

It was a magical time when all this online stuff was new and fascinating and we were all entering a new world
