The exchange rate should even out what price people pay for oil. Just because it is traded in dollars does not give US an advantage. Dollars are worth less than euros when you exchange them, so, it makes sense you would get more oil with dollars if you are european than you would if you are American. Is there some other factor that give US an advantage?
