I bet ya never heard that Warragul was gonna be burnt to the ground if one of the bigger fires didnt change directions. It was predicted early that if the fires got close enough the embers would be blown by the wind or a massive fire would break out and would be unstoppable. Im not exactly sure but there was a map that the CFA had in Warragul and the entire of Warragul would have been burnt if the wind hadnt changed directions.
gosh i looked at these comments i cant beleive it was only 5 months ago, the fires were so terribe, the CFA and emergancy services did such a fantastic job, it is so sad, but the cfa website said that there will be more fires and possibly worse, its scary, i hope everybody is ok, i wouldnt wish it on anyone to be as scared as i was watching the fires from my house, i thank the Lord the wind changed, good luck to everybody affected, and good luck for next fire season
im in lights on convoy ute club and we have been carting hay around for the fire victems that have nothing left to feed there animals and some of the things we have seen breaks ya heart but it makes me proud to be an aussie to see every one chipping in and lending a hand

I live in Gembrook and the fires came within 3 ks from my house., Mum left with the dogs and me and my brothers sayed behind to look after the house.,.,.,Mums car broke down around the corner so I went to get her and the dogs when we went back to get the car it was burnt out.,
i am at drouin west, we lost fences but saved the house, sheds & bungalow. i took off with my mum, young brother & pets. only to know that i was leaving my dad, & 2 other brothers behind to fight it. The corner of the house did catch on the balcony but it was put out. My young brother came home to get the others, but they stayed with dad, so he took off driving thru 10foot flames to save mum before she turned onto our road. There are 3 houses around us which were lost in the fire.
i'm in wa but i have a lot of mates round that area i hope that you and everyone eles who is still standing gets out before it's to leate, please make sure you stay safe
My heart goes out to the people who lost loved ones, I'd like to tell everyone, If you live near bush, Please dig holes big enough to sit out a fire, with water bottles, blankets, flashlights and make it airtight but safe so that kids don't get trapped under normal circumstances, everyone in these areas should have them!!! Why aren't people making them? sadly it's too late for some but as of this moment we have to be ready for when it happens again... and we can save lives..peace.
i could see so much smoke in the distance just over the hills from my house but i live 80km away and our area isnt on red alert just yet, fingers crossed....goood luck to everyone
