I'm a HUGE Tori Amos fan. Been seeing her since the mid nineties, and HATE that I was too young to purchase my own albums before then. I'm in LOVE with Little Earthquakes. I purchased this album in 1995 after I attained my first job after high school. Before then, I bought one single featuring a pig sucking on her breast. That triggered my interest as a window shopper. Little Earthquakes 'captured' me with good reason. I needed more. Then, Choirgirl Hotel did. To Venus and Back.

Even through the Tragedy that was "The Beekeeper" I never let go of the assurance that Tori creativly knew what she was doing. THIS VIDEO BUTCHERS THE SONG (which is by far one her greatest in the past 10 years). As a film director, "I" had an excellent idea for this video. I think the reason she's done the videos in this manner is to keep people from being distracted from the song itself....she wanted people to listen to the words, not focus on the images, and so she downplayed the videos to make her point come across better. The video DOES distract from the song itself; the sound and the images don't jive at all. An energetic video would have made anyone more likely to listen to her lyrics and, more importantly, her playing. It seems to me that you'd want the video to propel the song, not bring it down. Especially with this great of a pop song; not that I want it to happen, but this could have been Tori's breakthrough to mainstream radio! Too bad this song wasn't given the video that it deserves.
