dukefuns: Punta is from the Garifuna people. A LOT OF PUNTA SONGS WAS STOLEN FROM BELIZE. Ask Banda Blanca they can tell you about it. Punta is not spanish. Some songs are but its mostly garifuna and english. List to some of the songs from Honduras ...its all a wanna be translation of Garifuna and English into Spanish. And some of the words they cannot translate, they just babble anything.

Must have been written by honduraneans.Since you live in Belize goto Hopkins and say what you said about Punta coming from Honduras..they will all laugh at you. Punta came from BELIZE from a place called Punta Gorda ... check the map you will find it. I have been to Honduras and they dance it like the dancing salsa and meregue mixed together...not tight like it supposed to be.

actually my friend there is a documentary on them and I actually renounce any acclaims to the way I express myself about them because in reality none of us are garifuna so we wouldn't understand however the modern dance named after Punta is one of the best i have ever danced,

Punta actually came from Honduras and Belize.
Truthfully they both dance it differently. Belizeans are more vulgar which is awesome!! Homdurans stay on their flat feet and shake it! Belizeans actually use the PUNTA of their feet! Im Honduran yet Belizean. I have honduran family and friends and they dance it different from belizeans.
